A Devious Feline

By Pheonixxfoxx

Pokemon Black & White, I had mixed feelings about the new game honestly. Most of the new generation 5 Pokemon were so strange and different! Then a certain purple kitty, by the name of Choroneko/Purrloin was revealed! I have always had a soft spot for the evolved cat forms, so my like for Choroneko came as a bit of a surprise. Don’t get me wrong, I have always liked Meowth, Skitty, and Glameow. I just like their evolved forms better for some reason!

Traveling Companion

By Pheonixxfoxx

Pokedolls are all the rage, but I never really understood why! Well, not until I got my Giratina Origin Form Pokedoll, whom I named Pickles, almost 2 years ago! Pickles came from Nintendo World in New York, a fellow Pokemon collector decided to do a Pokedoll run, to help fellow collectors get their hands on those long sought after Pokedolls. For some reason, I was compelled to have my name added to the list for both a Giratina Origin Form and Shadow Lugia Pokedoll, though I did not really collect either Pokemon. Sadly, Shadow Lugia was out of stock, but I still gladly paid for Giratina Origin Form.

Pokemon Serperior Samurott Emboar Pokedoll Plushies

By Brian Grabow

The Pokemon Centers in Japan have just released 3 new Pokedolls today. They are Serperior, Samurott and Emboar. These Pokedolls are larger than normal size. It is about twice the size of a normal Pokedoll and of course about twice the cost. It is one of the large size Pokedolls, similar to Reshiram and Zekrom that were released last month.

Check out my video of the 3 new Pokedolls on youtube if you want to see them up close and the size compared to a normal size Pokedoll.

Minccino And Emolga Large Size Pokemon Plushies

By Brian Grabow

The Pokemon Centers in Japan have just released two new large size plushies. They are Minccino and Emolga, or Chillarmy and Emonga as they are commonly known in Japanese.

Chillarmy Large Plush
Minccino Giant Size Plush Toy

These are only sold in Japan at the Pokemon Centers and not at any toy stores. These two large plush toys are bigger than most large size plush toys, but smaller than the lifesize plushies. They both have incredibly soft fur that is like velvet. Very soft to the touch. They are very nicely detailed too.  Both of their faces have nice stitching and are very adorable. The eyes are really nicely made and Minccino’s ears are also really cool. Very nice quality I think.

Both plushes are about 14-15 inches tall (about 35-38cm), so they are quite big. Not as big as the lifesize plushies, but pretty big.  The Minccino plushie is alot wider than Emolga Pokemon plush because of its gigantic ears, but they are both similar in height.

How To Avoid Buying Bootleg Pokemon Plushies

By Masa Nakamura (translated)

Its happened to alot of us! You buy a Pokemon plushie and there is something just not right about it.  You bought it on Ebay, so you think you are safe from counterfeit or bootleg plush toys. BUT, you were wrong! In fact, I see more bootleg Pokemon plush and figures than real ones on Ebay. It kills me to even look at Ebay. Right now I can see over 20 bootleg Umbreon plush toys on ebay as I write this. It has become so common to see bootleg plushies on Ebay, that most people don’t even notice or they can’t tell which ones are real and which ones aren’t.  I will give you some helpful tips so that you don’t buy a fake plush and regret it later.

It is not easy to tell which Pokemon plush toys are real and which ones are bootlegs. The manufacturers have gotten very good at reproducing them to look almost perfect.  For parents, this can be especially hard because most parents don’t know what an Umbreon or an Eevee is. This link is from the Pokemon community regarding bootleg Pokemon plush. Its very helpful

Here is a perfect example of a FAKE UMBREON Plush currently on Ebay.

Pokemon Canvas Plush Collecting

By Jessie Paddington

Pokemon collectors collect many different things. Figures, cards, promo cards, plush toys, pokedolls, charms, keychains, and much more. I collect Pokemon canvas plush toys. Canvas plush are different from normal Pokemon plushies, tomy plush toys, pokedolls, and other stuffed toys. The Pokemon canvas plushies are smaller than most of the other Pokemon stuffed toys that you will find. Since they are smaller, they seem to have more detail. Take the Eevee evolution canvas plushies for example. They are some of the nicest ones I have ever seen. They cost a fortune at the moment because of their popularity and the fact that they sold out back in 2009. But these are worth every penny.  They are so small and cute. The eyes are the best part. Each character has very nicely stitched eyes. In addition, they are put together really nicely. Not like some of the cheaper made plush toys that you will see. The seams are nicely put together. There is no loose thread or bad sewing. True, they are quite small when compared to other plushies, but then again, the best things don’t always come in large packages.

Pokemon Center Starter Evolution Plushies

By Sam Clements (Almiraswolf)

Its very rare that the Pokemon center or even Banpresto releases
plushies of all three of a starter Pokemon’s evolutions. Now we are at
generation 5 fans got a nice surprise when it was announced that
Tsutarja (Snivy), Pokabu (Tepig) and Mijumaru (Oshawott) would be
getting plushies of their evolutionary lines. These plush were
released in 2010, before Christmas about a month after each other.

Pokemon center’s own plush are not Tomy, Banpresto or Pokedoll. They
are a new series of plush dolls that are unique and like most
merchandise – will eventually sell out (generally items are simply
retired or a limited number of items are produced to being with –
which is why it is best to buy an item you want as soon as it is
released. When an item is no longer available its value increases and
it becomes harder to find). They are soft and made of “minky fabric”
the same material used on the Pokemon Pokedolls and recent Tomy plush
releases. Each plush is also in proportion to its middle and final
evolution plush; smallest to biggest (you can see this in the photo).

Pokemon Center Reshiram And Zekrom Pokedolls

By Brian Grabow

The Pokemon Centers in Japan have released two new pokedolls, Reshiram and Zekrom. These two new pokedolls are bigger than the normal pokedolls. Similar in size to the DX pokedolls of Dialga, Palkia and Darkrai that were sold back in 2007, but slightly smaller. They are about 2-3 times as big as a normal pokedoll.

Duped

By Nora Berger

If there is one thing for Pokemon card collectors to have anxiety over, it is related to counterfeit cards. Especially on the internet. Nine times out of ten, a buyer mentally questions the authenticity of the cards for sale or the integrity of the card seller, himself. After all, the images of the cards might not be a scan of the exact card that a buyer will eventually receive. Even the internet seller could be unaware that the card in question is a fake. Regardless of the circumstances, there is no denying it: counterfeit Pokemon cards exist.

But what about cards that are not for sale on the internet? What about neighbors who sell cards? Tag / Estate sales often feature kind faces. The sellers are sometimes kids who believe that they have outgrown their Pokemon card collections. I am a kid so I trusted Cole* and his “kind” face. I was duped.

Pokemon Scraggy (Zuruggu) Lifesize Plushie

By Brian Grabow

At the Pokemon Centers in Japan, there is a new promotion campaign. It features the new character Scraggy. Scraggy is known in Japanese as Zuruggu. This new character is one of the generation V Pokemon characters. He looks similar to Croagunk, but is yellow. The Pokemon Centers in Japan have made some new merchandise featuring this character.

Scraggy lifesize plush toy

There is a lifesize plush Scraggy which is a staggering 23″ (58cm) tall. Its absolutely huge. Its the same size as the lifesize Tsutarja, Mijumaru and Pokabu that came out a while back. There is also a smaller  Scraggy plush toy (similar in size to a pokedoll, but slightly bigger), 5 different charms, a pen, eraser, clear files, a Scraggy shaped hat, 2 different straps, a pouch that is the shape of a plush Scraggy doll, 2 clear file folders, a tomy plush Scraggy, and more. Don’t wait. This is a limited time campaign, so it won’t be available for long. You can buy all these great items at Hardrock-Pokemon. These items are very popular and will sell out very fast, especially the lifesize Scraggy plushie.

The charms are very interesting. They come in an egg shaped plastic package and contain one charm. The charm inside is random, so you don’t know which one you will get.
