The Solosis line was one of the game-exclusive evolutionary lines released in the fifth generation. It can only be found in the wild and caught in Pokemon White. Though, like Gothita, its evolutions can be seen in either game and can thus be traded for and bred to get the entire evolutionary line to fill the pokedex.
Solosis, the Cell Pokemon, is a transparent, spherical shaped Pokemon. It has two light-green blobs that make up its inner body, black oval eyes, a red diamond shape for a nose, and a yellow spiral coming off the left side of its head. It has the highest Special Attack of any unevolved Pokemon and shares that honor with Abra. According to its pokedex entries, Solosis drive away attackers by using their psychic power. They are able to communicate with others by using telepathy. It also says that because they are enveloped in a special fluid, Solosis can survive in any environment. This may be a reference to an ability Solosis can have, Overcoat, which allows it to be unharmed by changes in the weather when in battle. Solosis appears to be based off from a cell, and the green gel-like substance surrounding it seems to be based off from cytoplasm. Its name most-likely comes from the words ‘solo’, ‘meiosis’, and ‘mitosis’.
Once it reaches level 32 it evolves into Duosion. Duosion is a bit larger than Solosis, its cytoplasm is a bit more bulky and appears to even contain feet, and its inner body has arm-like appendages. According to its pokedex entries, Duosion have two divided brains. They cause it to often attempt doing multiple things at once. Apparently when their brains think the same things at the same time, Duosion are able to exhibit their maximum power. Duosion has the highest Special Attack of any Pokemon that isn’t fully evolved. Oddly, Duosion’s Special Attack stats do not increase after it evolves. Duosion, like its pre-evolution, is based off from cells. Its name most-likely comes from the words ‘duo’, ‘fusion’ and/or ‘fission’, the division of cells.
Duosion reaches its final stage of evolution when it finally gets to level 41, when it evolves into Reuniclus. Reuniclus is quite a bit larger than its pre-evolutions. Its cytoplasm makes up very large ‘floating’ arms, and its inner body has a pair of small feet. The top of its head appears to have some sort of ears. According to its pokedex entries, Reuniclus are incredibly intelligent and fight by controlling their arms that can hold onto their opponents with a rock-crushing grip. The pokedex also says that when they shake hands, a network forms between their brains. That network increases their psychic power. Like both of its pre-evolutions, Reuniclus appears to be based off from cells though its appearance may also come from the homunculus. Its name is possibly a combination of the words ‘homunculus’, ‘reunite’, and ‘nucleus’.
