Pokemon Mudkip

By Anonymous

So I heard you like Mudkips? Everyone does, you just can’t fight it. They are the cutest Pokemon you can get, that is just an opinion though. How do you get a Mudkip? Mudkip is a starter Pokemon along with Treecko and Torchic in the Hoenn region. You have to get one of them from Professor Birch, the professor of the Hoenn region that studies Pokemon environments and habitats. His lab is located in Littleroot Town. All of his starters are at level five, just like all of the starters in all of the regions. Treecko is the grass type Pokemon, that looks kind of like a gecko. Torchic is the fire type Pokemon, which looks sort of like a baby chick. And Mudkip, the mudfish Pokemon we all know and love, is the water type Pokemon you can receive. Let’s get our Mudkip now!

Everything will go by pretty smooth for a while. You may encounter a member of Team Aqua or a member of Team Magma, but all in all everything will go by easily. When you arrive in Rustboro City to take the gym challenge so you can get your first badge and be one eighth closer to be able to challenge the Pokemon League. The leader of the Rustboro City gym is Roxanne. Roxanne trains rock type Pokemon. Rock type Pokemon tend be preferred for the first gym. I don’t know why. All but in the Johto region. In Kanto there is Brock for rock type Pokemon. In Hoenn there is Roxanne for the rock type Pokemon, and in Sinnoh there is Roark for the rock type Pokemon. I believe in the Unova region the first gym does not use rock type Pokemon. Anyway, time to get back on topic.

Hoenn Starters and Evolutions: The Mudkip Line

By Jo

It’s tiny, incredibly cute, and even has a popular saying specifically about it. Mudkip, the Mud Fish Pokemon, is one of the most popular Pokemon ever (In a poll conducted by Nintendo of Europe, Mudkip was voted a fan favorite with Typhlosion and Blastoise following not too far behind) and is the Hoenn region’s water-type starter.

“So i herd u liek mudkipz?” Though it looks a bit strange in that sort of context, that quote is one of the most popular Pokemon-related memes on the internet. It just goes to show how popular Mudkip really is in the Pokemon community. Being powerful for its small size, Mudkip has the highest attack out of all the starters at base form. Mudkip has a rather large head, a small blue body, and travels about on its tiny legs. Mudkip appears to be based on a mudskipper or mudpuppy, as well as an axolotl which is a type of salamander. The blue amphibian-like creature’s name is most-likely a combination of the words ‘mud’ and ‘skip’ and sounds very similar to ‘mudskipper’.

Hoenn Region Pokemon

By Amanda

Treecko is a grass type starter, known as the wood gecko Pokemon, and known as Kimori in Japan. It can learn strong moves like mega drain, quick attack and pound. It can evolve into Grovyle at level 16, and into Sceptile at level 36. In the Anime, Ash caught a Treecko during his adventures in the Hoenn region. It evolved later into Grovyle, and latter during his adventures in the battle Frontier, it evolved into Sceptile.

Torchic is a fire type starter, known as the chick Pokemon, and known as Achamo in Japan. It can learn strong moves like flamethrower, peck, and slash. It can evolve into a Combusken at level 16, and then into Blaziken at level 36. In the Anime, a trainer named May received Torchic as her starter Pokemon, and soon joined with Ash on his adventures in Hoenn. She used Torchic and her other Pokemon to win ribbons at contests.

Ruby And Sapphire Pokemon Game

By Anonymous

In Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire there are three starters. Torchic, Treeko, and Mudkip. I advise to go with either Torchic or Mudkip as it is hard to find a good fire and water Pokemon in Ruby or Sapphire until you get Groudon or Kyogre. Mudkip evolves into Marshtomp then into Swampert, Treeko evolves into Grovyle then into Sceptile, and Torchic evolves into Combusken then into Blaziken.

Torchic is a fire type starter Pokemon, or in Japanese it is known as Achamo. Its ability is Blaze, that is where it raises the power of Torchic’s Fire-type attacks by 1.5x while Torchic has less than 1/3 of its max HP (rounded down). It can learn moves as strong as flamethrower, firespin, and peck. Torchic evolves into Combusken at level 16 and then into Blaziken at level 36. Its weaknesses are water and ground Pokemon.
