Mewtwo, The Ultimate Pokemon

By Anonymous

I am almost positive that everyone has heard of the extremely powerful Pokemon Mewtwo. Mewtwo was created using Mew’s DNA. Mew has genetic relations with all Pokemon if I remember. Mewtwo was created in a lab funded by Giovanni, the boss of Team Rocket. Giovanni wants to create an extremely powerful Pokemon and they succeeded, they created the legendary Mewtwo. Mewtwo couldn’t control his powers, he was just that powerful. Giovanni tricked him by giving Mewtwo special armor so he could control him. Giovanni at the time was the Viridian City gym leader.

Purely to test out new Pokemon and see their power. Mewtwo became suspicious and didn’t want to work with Giovanni. He broke out and blew up the lab. Mewtwo found his own island that he used to clone Pokemon. He believed that the clones can destroy the originals. The legendary Mew wished to show him that there is no difference and humans aren’t bad. Currently Mewtwo lives at Cerulean Cave in the Kanto region. Cerulean Cave is of course located in Cerulean City. Mewtwo, I think, is at level seventy and still extremely powerful. Mewtwo is one of the hardest Pokemon you would ever have to capture. He has incredible special attack. Mewtwo is a psychic type Pokemon, just like Mew. Just don’t forget that Mewtwo is a clone of Mew, designed to have incredible powers. You would need a lot of Pokeballs to even attempt to capture this beast.

Mewtwo is Pokemon number 150 I believe. He is one of the final Kanto Pokemon, Mew being last. Due to Mewtwo being a clone of Mew as stated before, he has the word two after the name Mew. This is because he was made to be Mew, or the second Mew. Thus, being named Mewtwo. Cerulean Cave has a lot of powerful Pokemon ranging in the level fifty and up area. Only the most powerful and skilled Pokemon trainers have permission to enter Cerulean Cave because of this. If you manage through the puzzles and the powerful Pokemon, Mewtwo will be waiting for you. Do you have the skills to battle the legendary, incredibly powerful Mewtwo?

Mesprit, The Legendary Lake Pokemon

By Anonymous

A legendary Pokemon is an ancient being who has powers, powers that helped doing something extraordinary. It is usually a Pokemon that only one of it exists. Meaning that is extremely rare. Some legendary Pokemon may not seem as such, but there are duplicates. In the anime a good example of this is Articuno, the legendary bird Pokemon of Kanto, it is an ice type Pokemon and a flying type Pokemon. It was seen on an icy mountain, the frontier brain of the Battle Factory has one, and it is seen in the second movie, Pokemon 2000: The Power of One. Psychic type legendary Pokemon are very cool because they will usually have high attack stats and can confuse their opponents.

One of the Pokemon is Mesprit. Mesprit is a psychic type legendary Pokemon. Legend says it is one of the beings of the Sinnoh region. T is the spirit of emotion. This Pokemon has the power to wipe all the emotions out of someone’s mind. There is fan speculation that Mesprit did this to Cyrus when he was young, making him have no emotions. Mesprit lives in Lake Verity. Which is just to the west of Sandgem Town, the town Professor Rowan, the Sinnoh Pokemon professor lives in.

You won’t be able to capture Mesprit until after you beat the Pokemon League. When you arrive in it’s cave, Mesprit will be awaiting. Mesprit will not just battle you however. It will look at you for a few seconds and vanish. It is not over though. Mesprit is wanting to play a game with you, it will be wandering the Sinnoh region, if you find it in the wild you can do one attack to it. It will then vanish, or flee from the battle. In the anime, Mesprit is seen briefly by Dawn when she first starts her journey. It is also seen when they are fighting Cyrus and Team Galactic. This is because Mesprit and the other legendary lake Pokemon have the power of the Original One. He can extract the red chain and use it to control Dialga and Palkia. Do you like Mesprit? Is Mesprit your favorite out of the trio?

Pokemon Magikarp

By Anonymous

You have all heard of the Pokemon known as Magikarp, am I correct? Well he is the strongest Pokemon in the world! No, Magikarp is actually believe to be the weakest Pokemon in the world. All he can get is Splash, a move that does nothing at all! He just splashes around! And Tackle a normal type move that does damage but is absolutely useless due to Magikarp having such an insanely low attack stat! He can get Flail later on which is a bit better if I remember right but still with a poor attack stat you can’t do anything right with a Magikarp!

In the anime James of Team Rocket got hit up by a con-artist salesman that a Magikarp is awesome and it will produce eggs, those eggs hatch and you can sell the Magikarp and keep making more money! No, nobody would want a Magikarp. He sells it for a way too expensive price. He one time even included a gold poke ball! That’s right a solid gold pokeball!

No, that is way off, it is simply a regular cheap poke ball with some gold paint on it, you probably wouldn’t be able to see James by any Magikarp these days, maybe once in a while. But it used to happen every so often back around the early seasons. For some reason James never learns, he always falls for the deals, they can’t even be called deal, it’s just an expensive Magikarp!

Anyway in some of the games, including Pokemon Black and White, they will be a man selling a Magikarp for a way to expensive price. I would only buy it in Black and White, because Magikarp can’t be found anywhere in the reason unless you buy it from the salesman. Now is Magikarp really all that bad? A shiny Magikarp is gold, does that have any points to how awesome he is? They main attraction with a Magikarp is that it evolves in the powerful Gyarados at level twenty. Gyarados is a very powerful Pokemon, and in the end a Magikarp is worth the price. Though if you get an Old Rod you can get them whenever you want one. A shiny Gyarados is red, most of you should know of the red Gyarados if you red the other articles. Magikarp is a neat Pokemon, don’t you think?

Pokemon Genesis – When The 2nd Gen Was Officially Revealed

By TokoyamiTheDark

Everyone should remember when the 2nd Generation was officially announced, and that new Pokemon were revealed over time. 3 of them made their debut in the Anime in the 1st Movie and are : Snubbull, Marill and Donphan. Some people, however, unable to read the Japanese symbols, decided to give non-canon names to those Pokemon. Snubbull got the name « Bruno », Donphan got called « Dumbo » (hell yes, they gave it that name until Topps.inc revealed the real name of Donphan) while Marill got called « Pikablu » because people thought it was related to Pikachu and Raichu. These three Pokemon were considered as ‘PokeGods’ and were rumored to be obtainable only via GameShark.

According to the rumors, PokeGods were un-defeatable and very powerful. Snubbull’s japanese name was revealed to be « Buru » so people started referincing Snubbull as « Buru » rather than « Bruno », since « Buru » was the official Japanese name. But neither Donphan or marill’s names were revealed, so people continued with the silly names « Dumbo » and « Pikablu ».

However, in November 1997, a pack of cards revealed the elephant-like Pokemon’s true name ; Donphan (if you were lucky enough to get the card with Donphan in it) The pack also mentioned Buru’s American name, but they misspelled it as « Snubble », just like in the Pikachu Short’s novelisation and subtitles of the 1st Movie DVD. Finally, « Pikablu » was revealed to be « Marril », which dissapointed a lot of fans, thinking it was related to Pikachu while it wasn’t.

More Pokemon got revealed with the time, some didn’t had English names yet, but people rushed in to make rumors about their supposed English names. Some examples are : Neitotem(Xatu), Remanta(Mantine), Elechild(Elekid) Magkid(Magby) and tons of other names that got in the ‘PokeLost box’ and got forgotten over the time. A quebecer magasine soon revealed all 2nd Gen Pokemon with their Ken Sugimori images and how to catch them. Even Celebi was revealed, but the artwork was very much different and was supposed to ba a Ghost/Dark type.

However, it got scrapped, probably due to the fact that it had no Weakness, and became a Grass/Psychic Pokemon. Until Nintendo Power, people refered the 2nd Gen Pokemon by their Japanese names exept the ones that were revealed earlier, like Togepi or Marill. The big games were announced to be released on october 2000, but before that, the second Pokemon Movie came out, revealing Ledyba, Elekid, Bellossom, Slowking and Lugia to American audiences. Even after the watching the movie, I still prefered Ho-Oh over Lugia, so I went to make my Christmas wish list and got the Gold Version for Christmas while my brother got the Silver Version. In 2002, I finally managed to get all 250 Pokemon (excluding Celebi, but including Mew due to a glitch in the Red and Blue versions) However, when I caught the PokeRus, my saved file got messed up, so I had to start everything over.

Back To School With Pokemon

By Pokemon Professor A

Shopping for school supplies can be a tedious challenge for Pokemon trainers of all ages. Want to go back to school in style with the characters that show off your personality, but not sure where to look or how to pull it off? Get the inside scoop as we dive into much more than paper and glue, faster than you can say Pikachu.

Stylish Characters

Mew is cute, Jigglypuff is a singer, Zoroark is a beast and Zekrom is a boss. Every character has a distinctive flair all its own. Pick characters that show off your own personality. If someone at school or on campus connects with your Oshawott clear file, and you chose it because you feel like there’s an Oshawott in you, it’s likely that person will connect with you, too. Make more friends who love Pokemon just as much as you do.

Make it Match

Look and feel coordinated with a matching set of school supplies. There are several ways to achieve this magical matching look. One method is by color. Create a collection around a shade that is your favorite. Cleffa, Wigglytuff and Chansey perfectly reflect powder puff pink. Gengar, Sableye and Spiritomb are all darkly purple. Another matching method is to choose supplies featuring Pokemon of your favorite type. Tepig erasers, Victini note books, a Reshiram pencil pouch and Charizard pens would be a great set. The third way to be coordinated is to find supplies from the same game or series. Tepig, Oshawott and Snivy are a popular trio for the Pokemon Black and White game series. In Diamond and Pearl, Dialga and Palkia were the spotlight legendaries. Take a moment to think about how you want to organize your supplies.

Shopping Online

Despite the year-round popularity of the Pokemon franchise, school supplies featuring Pikachu and other popular pocket monsters may not be available locally every year. Stores typically only carry merchandise for the latest fads and trends. However, in Japan, the franchise is extraordinarily popular and a lot of school products are made for kids. Online shopping gives you the versatility to find Japanese products at any time of year. Japanese Pokemon school supplies tend to be very well made and will last all year. A good example of the difference in quality is a clear file verses a paper folder. Paper folders get bent and crushed inside backpacks. By January, they are torn and worn out. Clear files retain their shape and must be severely bent to become damaged. These plastic folders can last all year and maybe even longer when nicely handled.

Retail Options

When shopping at retail stores quality is sometimes an issue. Quite often, the supplies featuring hit characters found in large, American chain stores like Target or Wal-Mart are cheaply mass produced and of poor quality. There are exceptions to this rule. Sometimes Hot Topic will sell officially licensed backpacks, pencil pouches and other items. With the sales and promotions offered, these nicer quality items tend to sell out fast. Remember that every time you go to the store, it’s a gamble. You may find a great deal or leave empty handed. How many times have you called ahead to put an item on hold and it was gone when you arrived? Bottom line, you never know what will be in stock when you arrive.

The Fan In Us All: Analysis Of Bianca’s Subplot In Black And White

By forest_snivy

In Black and White Versions, the main characters are older, and the plot, deeper. Black and White are meant to draw in new players to the franchise, like all games in the main series of Pokemon, while also adding elements that are more relatable to older fans of the franchise, who have been playing since its humble beginnings in 1996 (in Japan; 1998 in the United States).

The two rival characters of Pokemon Black and White, Cheren and Bianca (Bel in Japanese), have powerful subplots–already a major improvement from previous characters who would only have dialogue that gave them character but no real story–paralleling real-life Pokemon players; Bianca is the most obvious one to draw these parallels to, and as such will be the focus of this article.

Bianca begins as a ditzy, unknowledgeable character who is unsure of what she wants for her life. All she knows for certain is that she wants to go on a Pokemon journey. Here we can draw the first parallelism: outside the fictional realm, most people begin playing Pokemon to play an amazing game–arguably, and almost certainly for young children, close to none of the players of Pokemon pick up the game thinking that it will bring about a life-changing self-realization. Bianca is the exact same way, entering into the world of Pokemon not knowing of the changes it will bring to her life.

Professor Juniper later reveals that the mothers of the player, Cheren, and Bianca were the ones who suggested to her the idea of delivering them their starter Pokemon. These four women mirror the people who support the playing of Pokemon. Some people may suggest Pokemon to a younger child so that he or she may have more means of making friends, or to make use of the well-yet-subtly-implemented multiplication within the battle system to improve their math skills. An older player may be encouraged to play Pokemon from reviews online, or he or she may simply want to play the video game that revolutionized turn-based JRPG’s. Regardless of the reason, however, the fact still stands that there will always be someone, somewhere, who will recommend Pokemon to someone else.

Kanto – Legendary Bird Pokemon

By Fritter

Each game takes place in a different region. Each region, respectively, contains its own “legendary” Pokemon. These are Pokemon which are extremely rare, so much so that only one is obtainable per game; Sometimes, only one is found per version, encouraging players to trade for high grade Pokemon that they cannot normally obtain.

The first legendary Pokemon are in Pokemon versions Red, Blue, and Yellow. This is a catalogue of the bird trio of Kanto region. All are powerful monsters worth seeking out.

1. Articuno

Articuno, the Freeze Pokemon. At 5’07”, this is one giant bird. Its types are Ice and Flying, very helpful in battles as Flying type’s usual Ice type weakness is negated. Any Ice type moves do normal damage to Articuno.

Articuno’s name is a combination of “arctic” and “uno” (one), but its origins are actually Arabic. The Persian رخ or Rokh (more commonly known as a Roc) is a giant arctic bird of prey. It was said to be able to carry off an elephant, and shares many of the characteristics of the middle-Eastern Pheonix.

Articuno is available in all three Red, Blue and Yellow versions on the Seafoam Islands. It lies deep within an icy maze of caverns, far away from humans, and can be confronted only with the help of HM SURF and HM STRENGTH.

2. Zapdos

Zapdos, the Electric Pokemon. Only somewhat smaller than Articuno at 5’03”, this is still one large predator. Like Articuno, its type combination (Electric/Flying) helps to negate one of its weaknesses: Electric damage does not count as Super Effective against Zapdos.

Its name follows the trend of combining its element (zap) with the Spanish number for two (dos). It is based on a Native American legend of the thunderbird. The thunderbird was an enormous, sacred bird that could create thunder and lightning by flapping its wings. Some tales of the thunderbird are very also similar to the tales of the Persian Roc.

Zapdos can be found in the very last room or the abandoned Power Plant in all three versions of the games, presumably making its home in the most abundant source of electricity. HM SURF is required to gain access to the Power Plant. Zapdos will attack violently if disturbed.

3. Moltres

Like the other two legendary birds, the Flame Pokemon Moltres’ name is a combination of its element (molten) and the Spanish word for three (tres). It is the last chronologically, and in-game it is also the last to be encountered.

The easiest origin to identify, Moltres is most likely based on the legendary Pheonix. The Pheonix was said to have a lifespan of 500-1000 years, and near the end of its life cycle, it would build a nest and set it aflame. It would then rise again from an egg in the middle of the ashes, reborn. Whether or not Moltres shares this ability is not mentioned, but it is certainly just as rare.

Moltres has gone through some dramatic physical changes over the years – Sometimes its wings are shown to be made entirely of flame, sometimes only partly. Its first appearance in the Kanto region shows its wings to be completely engulfed in (or possibly entirely composed of) flame.

Nearing the end of the game, Moltres can be found in an out of the way portion of Victory Road. As this is an optional route, it is possible to travel Victory Road and never find it. HM STRENGTH is required to traverse Victory Road, and thus to visit the legendary Moltres.

Lucario, The Aura Pokemon

By Anonymous

Have you heard of aura, or anything of that nature? What about a Pokemon of that nature? Well there is one, it is known as a Lucario. Lucario is the aura Pokemon. He was one of the first Sinnoh region Pokemon introduced. It was during the end of third generation. Lucario is a fighting type Pokemon, he is a pretty good battler, from everything to Close Combat to Aura Sphere. Lucario is also a steel type Pokemon. This can add to his defensive powers. The pre evolved from of Lucario is Riolu. Riolu can’t be found easily, you have to usually get it as an egg in the Sinnoh region games, which are Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

On Iron Island a man named Riley will give you an egg after you and him get through the cave. Hatch this egg and you will get a Riolu. Riolu will evolve into a Lucario with friendship during the daytime. Lucario may not seem that amazing but he really is or has at least the potential to do so. Lucario is famous as the star of the eighth Pokemon movie Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. A Lucario from the past is sent into a staff which releases itself during the present. He noticed how everything has changed and learns some new things. He doesn’t trust humans because his old master imprisoned him in a staff so he believes that he was no hero.

Lucario starts off in the present kind of closed, not wanting to get to loosened up pretty much. But throughout he slowly begins to open up and the people start learning some new things about Lucario as well. It is a pretty good movie, I suggest you watch it sometime. Anyway Lucario is good in Pokemon battles and just as a teammate. His typing his great fighting and steel, fire and fighting are his weaknesses, I know there might be more but those are the only ones that I remember. What do you think of Lucario, is he good or bad, your favorite, your least favorite, what is your opinion on him?

All About Pokemon Charizard

By Jack Snell

Charizard, the most iconic, formidable Pokemon in existence, rests in solitude in the scorching lava pit of Mt. Fire Blast. Rarely has it ever left the confines of the volcano. It is the epitome of power, crashes of its immense tail can destroy cities in one swipe, blusters of its fiery breath can consume all life in its path in literally seconds. For Charizard exudes an aura of rage, one of boundless energy, feeling that it can cremate, decimate and incinerate any foe which incurs its wrath.

When Charizard stamps one of its giant limbs a tremor is created which becomes a brutal earthquake, when Charizard cries, a drenching monsoon befalls the entire planet.

Then in a heartbeat, Charizard soars into the air, as graceful as a dragonfly, as agile as a leopard, swooping across the vast desert. Charizard glides effortlessly on the sun kissed air, every muscle and sinew in its body working in perfect harmony. The vivid sun rays beating down on its body cause its tail flame, its critical life source, to burn with even more intensity.

Then, as Charizard peered down to parouse the dusty dunes, it noticed fellow Pokemons behaviour that it had never seen before. Zigzagoons scurried into their burrows, cowering in fear at the mighty presence in the sky, Cacturnes tried to remain silent still, imitating a real life cactus, in hope that the colossal dragon wouldnt notice them. A single Tangela sat quivering, in the knowledge that one lick of flame would leave its body in cinders.

Charizard was overwhelmingly upset at the way fellow Pokemon reacted to his presence. Despite the powerful image and the dangerous heartless exterior, Charizard is a creature of real emotion like all of us, it no longer felt immortal, it felt vulnerable and alone

There was something deeper plaguing its mind, and Charizard realised it needed to inform the other Pokemon. At this time, it was on the verge of tears and desperately trying to hold back the emotional pain in fear that it could create a downpour which would put out its’ tail flame.

Charizard plummeted through the sky and hovered to a controlled stop, aside a small oasis. No other Pokemon were anywhere to be seen. Charizard sat alone, contemplating how he could ever resolve the rift between himself and other Pokemon. Finally, noticeably depressed at this point a tiny, very timid Vulpix approached him, inquisitive about what was upsetting him. Charizard explained that he means no harm, and has a tale to tell the Pokemon population of the area. Vulpix sceptically alerted all of the Pokemon inhabiting the desert and sure enough one by one, a crowd gathered around Charizard

Pansear And Simisear

By Jo

The elemental monkeys were never really favorites of mine when the games first came out. They were advertised and had merchandise, though that never really helped improve my opinion of them. It wasn’t until I received my own Pansear in the Dreamyard and used my sister’s Pansage when level grinding in her game, that I realized how useful they little monkeys could be.

Pansear, the High Temp Pokemon, appears to be based off from a monkey, though also holds physical similarities to fire and flames. It seems to be wearing red ‘pants’, the waist zigzagging with its cream colored torso. Its arms and lower half of its face match its torso and its tail, upper half of its face, ears, and ‘hair’ are the same red as its ‘pants’. The very tip of Pansear’s tail is in the shape of a small flame, and its ‘hair’ appears to be sculpted in the same flame-like pattern. Pansear is the only non-starter Pokemon to have the starter-exclusive ability, Blaze. It is also the only member of the three elemental monkeys that doesn’t learn a move that is otherwise only available through TM (Pansage learns Grass Knot, and Panpour learns Scald). According to its pokedex entries, Pansear live in caves and volcanoes. When Pansear is angered the temperature of its head tuft reaches 600 degrees F. It uses that tuft of hair to roast berries. Pansear’s name seems to be a combination of the words ‘pan’ (most-likely a reference to chimpanzees) and ‘sear’. The ‘ear’ in its name could also be a reference to the three wise monkeys, Pansear being the representation of “hear no evil”. Pansear’s name could also be taken as a pun of pan searing.

Pansear can only evolve into its final form, Simisear, when exposed to a Fire Stone. It is the only Pokemon not to be introduced in the first generation games to be able to evolve via Fire Stone. Simisear, like its pre-evolution, has features of both monkeys and flames. Simisear appears to be wearing a pair of red pants as well, the edges zigzagging. Simisear’s tail is fluffy and resembles a puffy cloud of smoke as well as cottony-like, white shoulder pads. Its arms are the same shade red as its ‘pants’, ‘hair’, tail, upper half of its face, and outer ears. Its fingers, though, are the same crème color as its torso, lower half of its face, and toes – and it looks as if it is wearing fingerless gloves. According to its pokedex entries, it loves sweets because they become the fuel that it burns for energy. It apparently has a flame inside its body and scatters the embers from its head and tail to burn its foes. Simisear’s name most-likely comes from the words ‘simian’ (which are often referred to as being “higher primates” and are known as Old World monkeys and apes) and ‘sear’.
