Feebas, The Ugly Pokemon

By Anonymous

Have you ever heard of an ugly Pokemon? I am almost one hundred percent sure you have. One Pokemon of this nature is Feebas. Now Feebas was once referred as the moldy cheese Pokemon. Looking at his skin you can see why, it is a moldy looking color and the skin has blotches on it which could look like cheese holes. He has gray, messy fins and a look similar to Magikarp but it looks a bit dumber, that is the best word to describe it. Not only that, but this Pokmeon was impossible to capture back in the days of Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. The Feebas choose a new pattern and keep appearing. It could be very frustrating to even capture this Pokemon. And even though it is so ugly looking and it is terribly hard to catch. Feed it a PokeBlock, Poffin, whatever. Make it enhance it’s beauty. Max out this ugly Pokemon’s beauty and do you know what happens? It will make itself you beautiful! That’s right, Feebas will evolve into a Milotic.

It just goes to show you that there is no balance with these two Pokemon. The first stage gets all the bad looks and the final stage gets all the good looks. Feebas is the Pokemon that would seem to be pretty ugly to most people, however unlike Magikarp, Feebas can get more moves outside of Spals, Tackle and Flail. It learns some TMs, which Magikarp can’t. Feebas will be alright to use but I suggest you get it to evolve so you can have some more power on your side.

Espeon The Psychic Pokemon

By Anonymous

Eevee is by far one of the most popular Pokemon in the, well, Pokemon World of course! This is because of the simple fact of Eevee having over seven different evolutions. Eevee is just a normal type Pokemon, Jolteon is just an electric type Pokemon, Flareon is just a fire type Pokemon, Vaporeon is just a water type Pokemon, Umbreon is just a dark type Pokemon, Espeon is just a psychic type Pokemon, Leafeon is just a grass type Pokemon, and Glaceon is just an ice type Pokemon. What do all these have in common? Eevee! They all evolve through Eevee with an evolution stone, friendship or level up by a special rock. One of these Pokemon we’re going to take a look at is Espeon.

Espeon has four legs, much like a bigger for of Eevee, but has a lavender color. It has a red circle on it’s forehead which most likely symbolizes it’s psychic Power. Espeon also has a long fork tail, sort of like a reptile’s tongue. Espeon’s eyes are just a light purple, a bit darker then the lavender color on it’s body. Espeon has long ears, sort of like Pichu, but they are lavender and light purple on the inside. That is just a basic idea of what an Espeon looks like. Espeon is also fairly popular in battle because it has the strongest special attack stat of all the Eevee evolutions, except for maybe Glaceon who has high speciall attack as well. But Espeon has a bit more speed then Glaceon so it even outs.

Legendary Pokemon Entei

By Anonymous

Legendary Pokemon are quite popular. Not just for there power, but also because of their origins. Legendary Pokemon did a lot in the making of Pokemon environments to the regions. In Sinnoh it is believed that the Pokemon known as Arceus has the power to create world so he created the Pokemon World. In the Tin Tower, it was burned down, three Pokemon were caught in the blast. Ho-oh, the guardian of the Tin Tower reincarnated them into Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, this is the story according to the anime. Entei is a fire type Pokemon. He is basically the embodiment of a volcano.

Entei is a legendary beast, he is a dark brown, furry color. He has a face that resembles a red star type of design, it also has what looks like a silver mustache. On his back he has a white or maybe a silver or grayish mane, it is very wispy, just like the smoke of an open flame.

In the anime, or more so a movie, Entei is the star and one of the main characters, making Entei one of the more famous legendaries. The movie is the third move. I believe it is called something along the lines of “Pokemon Three: The Spell of the Unown“. Unown cast a spell that make an Entei appear. This Entei can speak using telepathy, it will grant any wish of the young girl named Molly. Ash Ketchum so happens to be visiting this town at the time. Molly’s wish or at least one of these wishes is to have a mother. So Entei kidnaps Ash’s mother Delia. The story is for Ash and his friends to journey into the mansion, or now probably a castle covered in crystal due to the Unown, and to get his mother back. Ash has troubles along the way and Entei is very protectice because this is designed to be Molly’s dream.

All About Dragonite

By Anonymous

There are a lot of Pokemon, all ranging in power. Some being legendary Pokemon. Some are mystical. Now, what are these characteristics? From a dragon type Pokemon! The first final evolved dragon type Pokemon was a Dragonite. In order to get a Dragonite you have to go through a bunch of training that will make you want to tare your eyes out, not literally though. You have to get the rare Dratini first of all, Dratini is a pure dragon type Pokemon. It will mainly have Wrap and Thunder Wave when you get it, just some basic attacks. Dratini is a snake Pokemon, well looks kind of like one, it has fins on top of its head, some black beady eyes, a blue body and white belly. A cute Pokemon but it lacks some power until it evolves, for sure. It will take a lot of training to evolve Dratini, but again, it is worth it!

Dratini will evolve into a Dragonair. Dragonair is basically a larger version of a Dratini. The blue on it’s body got a bit darker and it has some dark blue bead type objects on it. In the anime it shows that Dragonair can swim very well, they inhabit the Dragon’s Den in the Johto region. But a Dratini can be captured in the Safari Zone way back in Kanto. You can also buy a Dratini at a Game Corner in the Johto region. But Dragonair, to level up, is about three times harder then Dratini. I know, but it’s the truth. I know this because I have trained many Dragonite in the past, and it is hard. Dragonair will have some dragon type attacks like Twister, and in fifth generation a move called Dragon Tail. You have to get this Dragonair from level thirty-five all the way to level fifty-five. But when you get it there it will surely be worth it! It will evolve into a mighty Dragonite.

Pokemon Cyndaquil

By Anonymous

All regions must have starter Pokemon, otherwise it would be extremely hard to get a first Pokemon for the new trainers. In the Johto region trainers can get their starters from the Pokemon Professor, Elm. Professor Elm will, much like the other regions, give the new trainers a Pokemon at level five. They can choose a fire type Pokemon, a grass type Pokemon, or a water type Pokemon.

Trainers can only choose one of these to be their first and starter Pokemon. Professor Elm will give a trainer the water type Pokemon Totodile, the grass type Pokemon Chikorita, or the fire type Pokemon Cyndaquil. You choose the fire type Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil can get some attacks at low levels that can help you out, such as Tackle, Ember, and Smokescreen. Tackle is a generic normal type attack. Ember is a weak fire type attack that actually is powerful against low level Pokemon. And Smokescreen is an attack that lower’s the opponents accuracy.

Accuracy, as a term for battle, is the chance of an attack actually hitting the opponent’s Pokemon. If the accuracy is lowered there is a chance of the attack missing, and the Pokemon with the lowered accuracy basically wasn’t able to do anything that turn. Everything is pretty easygoing with Cyndaquil. The biggest problem that you will encounter on the start of your journey is probably the first gym. Don’t be alarmed, the second gym has bug type Pokemon, which Cyndaquil can defeat easily. Anyway the first gym is using Flying type Pokemon.

Pokemon Chimchar

By Anonymous

Fire type Pokemon are among the most powerful. Their attacks can inflict their enemy with burn, it is like the poison status effect but it only lowers a bit of health but also lowers your attack. Being burned isn’t the funnest thing in battling. Not unless you’re the one with the fire type Pokemon that inflicted them with the burn. There is also a fire, water, and grass type Pokemon given as a starter. There is also a professor in a certain town that gives them to new trainers. Professor Oak of the Kanto region, he studies the relationships between people and Pokemon, and he gives trainers the fire type Pokemon Charmander, the water type Pokemon Squirtle, and the grass type Pokemon Bulbasaur. In the Johto region, Professor Elm, who studies Pokemon breeding patterns and what not, gives trainers the water type Pokemon Totodile, the fire type Pokemon Cyndaquil, or the grass type Pokemon Chikorita.

In the Hoenn region trainers can get their star from Professor Birch, who studies Pokemon habitats and environments, he gives out the fire type Pokemon Torchic, the water type Pokemon Mudkip, or the grass type Pokemon Treecko. And there is Professor Rowan who studies Pokemon evolution, he gives the water type Pokemon Piplup, the fire type Pokemon Chimchar, or the grass type Pokemon Turtwig.

Let’s go to the Sinnoh region, and let’s get a Chimchar. Chimchar is orange, and looks sort of like a monkey. He has a lot of fire power, but there is a small downside to it. The first gym will be kind of tough. The first gym is a rock type gym. The Pokemon will be defensive and the attacks will be brutal. So beware, it can be tough and you might have some trouble. Rock type attacks are very strong against a fire type Pokemon like Chimchar.

All About Charmander

By Anonymous

Do you remember the original 150 Pokemon? Do you by any chance remember the starters? The Kanto region? Or even Professor Oak? To incorporate this all, or most of it. In the Kanto region, with the original 150 Pokemon, you can get your start from Professor Oak. The grass type Bulbasaur, or the water type Squirtle? The main one that will be talked about in this article is the fire type Pokemon you can receive from Professor Oak, Charmander. Now Charmander has a long history for many things. In the anime, way in the beginning, it says that Charmander will die if the flame on his tail were to go out. This is fairly interesting, is this for all fire type Pokemon with flame on a body part? I wonder, probably not, it was only mentioned with Charmander.

Charmander you should already know as a fire type Pokemon. The first two gyms in the Kanto region or hard if that is the place you choose for your journey. This is only if you choose Charmander though. Because the first two gyms in the Kanto region are a Rock type gym, the leader is Brock, it is hard for Charmander to beat him unless you bring some potions. The second gym is a bit easier though it is a water type gym, the leader is Misty. It will be sort of hard for a Charmander, The only reason for it to be sort of is that you might have a few other Pokemon at the time to help you out. Charmander is a fire type Pokemon, and is therefore weak to the Rock and Water type Pokemon. He can get more powerful by evolving into Charmeleon.

Analysis: Dragon-Type Pokemon

By Jill/Redterror117

Being my favourite type of the Pokemon series, it seemed to be less of a task and more of fun way to talk about Dragon Pokemon as a whole. Since having first been introduced to the series through getting Pokemon Yellow as my first Gameboy game, I have found myself trying to specialize more in Dragon Pokemon, and Dragon-like Pokemon for my line-ups. Both of my favourite Pokemon are also Dragon types, Dratini as my favourite non-legendary, and Latias as my favourite legendary. So what’s so special about Dragon Pokemon that makes them stand out from the rest? Well, let me outline that.

First, there are the battle specific advantages that Dragon Pokemon hold. The only thing that resists them is Steel, and the only things that they are weak to are other Dragons, and Ice type moves. They also resist the four major special types: Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric, all of which are associated with the starters of each series. It’s also considered one of the strongest types overall, as even though Dragon Pokemon can require much more training than other Pokemon types (especially since most don’t reach their final stage until after level 40), they tend to possess the highest attack and special attack stats, which make them formidable foes in combat.

Pokemon Bulbasaur

By Anonymous

The Kanto starters, some of the best out of all 5 sets, correct? Probably not, I have my personal preferences, but you have yours. What about professors? Professor Oak of the Kanto region is neutral. All the professors are in my opinion. I have no favorite professor. Pallet Town is where you get your starter in the Kanto region, in Oak’s Lab you can choose a water type Squirt, a fire type Charmander, or a grass and poison type Pokemon, Bulbasaur. Now Bulbasaur has blue skin, or at least some shade of blue, and a green bulb on his back. And I believe red eyes. Don’t get suspicious over the word “saur” in his name. Because he could resemble a dinosaur very easily, the four legs, the reptile build, just the look, but I don’t think he could pass for a full fledge dinosaur.

The first gym in the Kanto region is great for Bulbasaur because it is a Rock and Ground type gym, the leader is Brock. If you beat this gym you get the Boulder Badge, the very first badge out of the eight you need to enter the Kanto Pokemon League. If Bulbasaur has any grass type attack, like Razor Leaf, Vine Whip, or Absorb. Those are very simple well known attacks that some grass Pokemon like Bulbasaur can learn. If Bulbasaur has just one of those attacks, there is a fine chance for you to win the first gym. Grass type attacks have a decent advantage over the rock and ground type Pokemon.

The Roggenrola Line

By Jo

The Unova region seems to be a sort of parallel to the Kanto region. These games were the first since the original games to release Pokemon not related to any other previous generation. Also there are many different evolutionary lines in the newest generation games that are very similar to the ones native to Kanto, like Roggenrola and its evolutionary relatives being the Unova version of the Geodude line.

Roggenrola looks like a small rock with feet. It’s primarily colored blue, though has a yellow center that could be considered an eye. It has light brown feet and another rock the same color on top of its head. It appears to be based off from a geode, geographical rock formations that are normally made up of some sort of crystal surrounded in limestone, or other type of rock related to limestone. According to its pokedex entries, Roggenrola’s ear is a hexagonal shape. Because it was compressed underground, its body is as hard as steel. They were apparently discovered a hundred years in an earthquake fissure. Inside each one is an energy core. Roggenrola has the lowest special defense of any rock-type. Its name is most-likely a play on the term “rock and roll”.

Once Roggenrola reaches level 25, it evolves into Boldore. Boldore seems to be made up of many different bluish colored rocks that have coral colored crystals sticking out from them and shares a few characteristics (like its large ‘arms’) with crabs. According to its pokedex entries, when Boldore overflow with power, the orange crystals on its body glow. It looks for underground water in caves. It is said that because its energy was too great to be contained, the energy leaked and formed orange crystals. Boldore’s name appears to be a corruption of the word “boulder”, and seems to be a combination of the words ‘boulder’, ‘bold’ (for being outstanding and larger), and ‘ore’ (a type of rock that contains metals, which is most-likely a reference to its type).
