Pokemon Black And White Anime Review

By Carl00456

Pokemon Black and White or ‘Best Wishes’ is the newest season of Pokemon. If you have not watched this before then I urge you to as you will not regret it. This series greatly surpasses the others as it includes amazing animation, better characters and many more Pokemon.

The first episode was very exciting. Ash decided to travel to the Unova region. When he gets there things suddenly begin to go wrong. A giant thundercloud gathers over the blue sky and Pikachu’s electricity powers do not work. Pikachu has to be contained in a special machine so Ash and the professor can monitor its health. Ash meats all the new starter Pokemon and even meets his rival, Trip. At the end of the episode we discover that the thundercloud was actually caused by Zekrom, the legendary Pokemon.

Later on, Ash meets his new friends, Iris and Cilan. These two characters are entertaining and unique as they both have detailed back-stories and Pokemon that suit them, although Iris can be a bit annoying at times. The only other bad thing I can say about the characters is that they sometimes interrupt each other so it can be hard to tell what they are saying. The art is beautiful. The Pokemon look realistic, frequently moving instead of standing still. The backgrounds also look great, providing a frantic atmosphere to the anime.

Best Wishes Episode 006 Review

By Trainer_Auro

Last episode, we left off in the middle of Ash’s first gym battle against the triplet gym leaders. He won the first round against Chili, but lost the second to Cress, meaning that his victory lies on Oshawott, the water type beating Pansage, the Grass type. Although with the last episode ending when Pansage fires off a Solarbeam, it doesn’t look too good for the poor otter. Introductions aside, it’s time for a play-by-play review.

Warning, the following WILL contain spoilers.

I recommend you watch this series on your own, but if you’re in a hurry, want another opinion, or just don’t feel like watching, this will be quick, and to the point without losing the details.

Best Wishes Episode 005 Review

Two starters in a row. I think we can all tell what comes next! First the water typed Oshawott, and then the fire typed Tepig, all that’s left is the grass typed Snivy. But that’s something for another episode. Last time, Ash entered a town, thinking it was Striaton, only to find that it was actually the Gymless Accumula. This episode, we waste no time, and see that it is in fact Striaton he’s seeing. Looks like we’re in for a gym battle! Introductions aside, it’s time for a play-by-play review.

Pokemon Best Wishes episode 004 Review

By Trainer_Auro

Three episodes; three Pokemon. At this rate, Ash’s party will be full in no time. Last time, he caught the adorable water type; Oshawott. Well, technically, he didn’t catch it. It was the Oshawott from Professor Juniper’s lab, which she told Ash to take care of after its escape. Watching Pikachu and Oshawott interact was amusing, but now we should get a better idea of Oshawott’s character. We start off this fourth episode with Ash approaching a city, excited for his first Gym battle.

Pokemon Best Wishes Episode 003 Review

By Trainer_Auro

After two episodes, Ash already has two Pokemon; Pikachu and Pidove. Hopefully he doesn’t fill out his party too soon, and stick us with the same six for the rest of the season. It would be even better if he caught more than six, and switched some things around every now and then. Something I’ve noticed about Team Rocket is that in both the episodes we’ve seen them in, they’ve used their classic mechanical arms to grab Pikachu, and yet they seem so different. But enough about Team Rocket for now.

This time, we start off with Ash and Iris heading towards Striaton (Sanyou city) to challenge the gym.

Pokemon Best Wishes Episode 002 Review

By Trainer_Auro

From the first episode we saw plenty of new stuff. New Pokemon, new people, new places, and new features. While Ash is his same old self, we’ve already seen a drastic change in some other important, recurring characters; Team Rocket. Their profound lack of “Blasting off” is actually a welcome sight to me. While it’s been as age old a tradition as Brock’s perversion, I’m glad to see it go, as it allows for a much needed change in atmosphere. You’ll be hearing a lot of praise from me about that. As long as they keep being awesome, I’ll keep talking about it.

This time, we’ve got the continuation of episode 001 (big surprise there) starting off where we left off, with Zekrom’s cloud hovering over Professor Juniper’s lab, and Pikachu discharging large amounts of electricity into the room.

Pokemon Best Wishes Episode 001 Review

By Trainer_Auro

After watching the hell out of the TV show as a kid, I’m excited about this new season. Since the games are supposed to be an all new experience, the anime decided to follow suit, and is having Ash (Satoshi) (depending on whether you’re watching it dubbed or subbed) start over with all new characters, and all new Pokemon. The difference between this and any other season (which seems to do roughly the same) is that you won’t be seeing any of the old Pokemon in this new region. While some things stay the same (such as the iconic Pikachu) some old traditions have been dropped, most notably Brock. He is nowhere to be found in this new series. While this is a disappointment to many fans, it’s a bit refreshing, to be rid of that long-running gag where he would hit on every woman in sight, trying to show them how he’s the world’s greatest “breeder.”
