The Scoop On Pokemon Critical Hits

By Matt

Having a critical hit land is a major game-changing factor. Like EVs and EV training, a critical hit is another game mechanic overlooked by many. Don’t worry, I’ll explain it entirely. First of all, you notice critical hits do more in a battle (mainly because of the message “A critical hit!”). That’s because they deal 2 times the regular damage, without computing Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) or type matchups. If the right items and moves are used, critical hits can be used to take out fast-moving, powerful Pokemon in battle. A chance of getting a critical hit is divided into five stages, each having a higher percentage than the other.

Pokemon Department Stores

By Anonymous

Anyone who ever started a journey in any of the Pokemon regions should know what a Pokemart is. A Pokemart is a store to buy Pokemon goods. This could range from a Pokeball, tools used to capture Pokemon. To a potion, and item that can heal a Pokemon. The more you advance, the higher quality the goods. For example, in Johto, you could get a Super Potion in Ecruteak City’s Pokemart. But a regular Potion in Cherrygrove City’s Pokemart. Each region also has a huge department store consisting of about three to five different floors. The first floor is a desk where you can enter a lottery, this lottery checks the Pokemon in your party’s ID numbers and if you have a few matching numbers that it says on the lottery ticket, you win a prize.

Pokemon EVs – In-Depth Explanation

By Matt

When I first started EV training, I was too impatient to realize that EVs will build up over time, giving higher values as your Pokemon levels up. The base stat will be a factor in developing maximized IVs (Individual Values). When you defeat a wild Pokemon, you will get EXP points, and also (not recorded) Effort Values (EVs). I’ve already explained this in past articles; the Pokemon will give invisible EVs based on its best stats (i.e. Buizel will give out Speed EVs). Also, like I said before, EVs are not recorded, so you have to keep track with a piece of paper. Certain items, like the Macho Brace, will double these EVs, and make it easier for your Pokemon to increase a certain stat.

Pokemon Event Character Downloads

By Anonymous

Have you ever heard of a Pokemon event before? They are special Pokemon that you can receive at promotion that are usually quite rare, they contain a special move are unlock something you can’t get without it. People collect Pokemon Events, and can usually get large sums of them. But a huge problem going on is hackers.

People hack to make replicas of the actually copy and trade them off for originals. It is kind of like bootlegs. If a Pokemon is real and not hacked it is given the term of legit. Otherwise it is just called a hack. People are trying to check events so they can tell. One of the first things to do is to check the identification of the Pokemon.

Pokemon Normal Type Move Summaries Part 9

By Matt

This is my 25th article. I would like to extend my thanks to Brian of hardrock-pokemon.com for posting these articles.

I will be discussing Normal-type Pokemon moves. The entire list can be found at http://www.serebii.net/attackdex-bw/normal.shtml. This provides a complete list with PP, Base Power, Accuracy, and a complete description. When you click on the move, you can see more details, like which Pokemon can learn it.

Let’s finish the remaining S moves.

Softboiled is a recovery move that has an effect similar to the others; it is not affected by weather conditions like Morning Sun or Moonlight.

Sonicboom is great for weaking low-level wild Pokemon. It does 20 damage (in HP), which is around average for level 10 Pokemon. Of course, replacing this move is a must, since Pokemon will usually end up at about 200-400 HP at level 100.

Pokemon Normal Type Moves Part 8

I will be discussing Normal-type Pokemon moves. The entire list can be found at http://www.serebii.net/attackdex-bw/normal.shtml. This provides a complete list with PP, Base Power, Accuracy, and a complete description. When you click on the move, you can see more details, like which Pokemon can learn it.

At last, I’ve reached the end of the Normal-type moves, beginning with the letter S!

Safeguard prevents status problems for five full turns. Moves like Façade won’t be as effective, so plan carefully.

Scary Face reduces the target’s Speed stat by two levels. Now your Pokemon can strike first if it’s slow moving.

Scratch is one of the starter Pokemon’s moves. It’s weak, so in the name of all that is Pokemon, find a stronger attack.

Pokemon Normal Type Move Summaries Part 7

I will be discussing Normal-type Pokemon moves. The entire list can be found at http://www.serebii.net/attackdex-bw/normal.shtml. This provides a complete list with PP, Base Power, Accuracy, and a complete description. When you click on the move, you can see more details, like which Pokemon can learn it.

The letters of today’s article will be: R, T, and W. (S will be in Part 8.)

Roar inflicts no damage on the target, but it forces it to switch out with another Pokemon. If you use this while battling a wild Pokemon, it will just disappear.

Rock Climb is an HM move, but it comes with much power. At a power of 90, it is 85 percent accurate, and may cause the target to become confused.

Pokemon Normal Type Move Summaries Part 6

By Matt

I will be discussing Normal-type Pokemon moves. The entire list can be found at http://www.serebii.net/attackdex-bw/normal.shtml. This provides a complete list with PP, Base Power, Accuracy, and a complete description. When you click on the move, you can see more details, like which Pokemon can learn it.

I’ll now be talking about Normal-type moves beginning with N, O, P, Q, U, V, and Y. The reason is because O, Q, U, V, and Y have only one move.

Natural Gift’s attack power depends on the hold item, which has to be a Berry. I wouldn’t advise using this move; Berries will almost always be consumed in battle, and I believe that if the user doesn’t have a berry, it can’t use this move.

Nature Power is a move completely dependent on what kind of terrain there is. The animation will change depending if you’re in water, tall grass, a cave, etc.

Pokemon Natures And Natural Selection

By Matt

Natures are another aspect of Pokemon that are important to potential (stat-wise). They determine an increase in one stat, and a decrease in the other. Depending on what you prefer, it will be difficult to get a Pokemon with the nature you want. There are 25 different Natures, most of them raising one stat and lowering the other. The ones that do not are known as Neutral Natures, and will not hinder or advance the progress of any one stat. These natures are Hardy, Docile, Serious, Bashful, and Quirky.

Specifically, Natures will increase a stat’s progression by 1.1x (10%) as well as lower it (0.9x, or 10% down). The reason why there are 25 Natures is that there needs to be a Nature for every single combination (HP is excluded when dealing with Natures). You can tell (most of the time) what a Nature’s effect will be if you just look at it.

Pokemon That Evolve Based on Happiness or Evolution Factors: Pokemon Happiness

Pokemon Evolution: Happiness

So you caught a Woobat, and you now want a Swoobat; or perhaps, you have an adorable Eevee you want to evolve into an intimidating Umbreon. Well it could be a good 40 levels of training until you realize that your Pokemon has shown no sign of evolution. Level after level, becoming letdown by each time you don’t hear that beautiful tune that signifies evolution. Now you are beginning to blame the Daycare man for dropping your Pokemon as an egg, thus hindering it from a normal development.

Don’t become frustrated at your Pokemon, because it isn’t evolving because it isn’t happy.
