Pokemon Black & White Game Review

By Joey DiGiacomo

Moderate graphics, exciting game play, and new Pokemon… all things that describe the Pokemon Black & White game. Now if you are one of the many people like me that have already played Black & White you should be as astonished as me. The fact that I got the games in Japanese that is a personal high point, but when you get down to the game you see the exciting features.

First, you have to look at the best feature, new Pokemon. The new Pokemon have many words to describe them, cute, small, large, and most of them are very powerful. We are all familiar with the “Legendary Pokemon,” and this game does not lack them. Since I do not want to give anything to big away, I will just say that there is one legendary for each game.

Tricks For Finding Hacked Pokemon

By Emily

Being a diehard shiny Pokemon fan and collector, I always like getting new shiny Pokemon from trades. However, I get very frustrated when, after checking a full box of shiny Pokemon, I find out that half of those Pokemon are hacked. Sometimes trading for the hacked Pokemon could have been avoided had I been more vigilant and looked at the most obvious signs of a hacked Pokemon. Many telltale signs exist that should be red flags, even for a novice collector.

The date and place met. Shiny Suicunes should never come from Hoenn, shiny Lugias should never be met on Route 202, and a Charizard should never, ever be captured in a Master Ball. This is very basic, but sometimes it’s useful for finding poorly hacked Pokemon. Dates that Pokemon were captured should also be looked at, especially if you get multiple Pokemon from the same person. Usually someone trading a lot of shiny Pokemon that were caught within a day or two of each other is a pretty suspicious sign.

Pokemon In The Unova Region Part 3

By Amanda

Sewaddle, also known as Kurumiru in Japan, is a bug and grass type, and is known as the sewing Pokemon.  It has strong attacks like bug bite, razor leaf, and bug buzz, but it can only learn six moves through level up.  It can evolve into Kurumayu at level 20, and then evolve into Hahakomori when its trust is at its max.  It’s also one of Ash’s Pokemon in the Unova region that he caught.  Zuruggu is a dark and fighting type, and is also known as the shed skin Pokemon.  It has strong moves such as brick break, little by little, hi jump kick, and head smash.  It can evolve into Zuruzukin at level 39.  Zuruggu is also one of Ash’s Pokemon he got while in the Unova region, which was given to him as an egg, to say thanks.

Snivy, also known as Tsutarja in Japan, is one of the best grass starter Pokemon yet.  Not only does it know strong grass moves like leaf blade, leaf storm, but also some new attacks like grass mixer, and grass oath.  In its final evolution, it looks like a snake, loosing its limbs in each stage.  In the anima, Ash owns a female snivy, shown to be very powerful. Oshawott, also known as Mijumaru in Japan is a Water type Pokemon available in Black and White.  It’s known as a sea otter  that has a shell it can detach from its belly to use to attack or defend itself.  It has powerful attacks such as shell blade and aqua tail, and can learn the move water oath.  It also appears in the anima, being one of the Pokemon Ash caught in the Unova region.  Tepig, also known as Pokabu in Japan is a fire type.  Known as the pig Pokemon, it has strong fire types attacks like nitro charge and heat stamp.  It can also learn fire oath, an attack if combined with another oath attack can change the field.  It’s also one of Ash’s Pokemon he caught in the Unova region as well.

Recommended Pokemon Games You Should Buy

By Anonymous

Lately have you heard about the new Pokemon DS games coming out? There are two of them and they are called Black and White. They are going to come out on March 6, 2011. The legendary Pokemon you get in the Black version is called Reshiram. The legendary Pokemon you get in the White version is called Zekrom. At GameStop these games cost $34.99 each. If you like Pokemon cards and you get packs wishing for Lv.X’s, EX’s, or Prime’s you don’t have to do that anymore. You just can get a tin. They always come with at least one Lv.X, EX or Prime and you get to choose!

I think for the Pokemon plushes you should get Pokemon Center plushes because they are made officially by Nintendo. For the DS games in between Heart gold and Soul silver I would recommend getting Soul silver. I would recommend getting Soul silver because Ho-oh is a stronger character (at least I think) and you get to catch him at Lv.70. And in between Platinum, Diamond and Pearl I would recommend getting Platinum. I would recommend getting Platinum because it is more updated than Diamond and Pearl.

Pokemon Players And The Next Generation

By Leonie Herson

Pokemon has become a worldwide phenomenon, with its limitless merchandise and continuous television series (including movies) bought and viewed almost everywhere. With a total of 649 Pokemon and a new Pokemon fifth generation underway, the quest to catch them all becomes even more challenging. With new abilities, type combinations and battle mechanics in stunning new graphics, what’s not to love?

Since the release of Pocket Monsters Red and Blue in 1998 for the US (Red and green in 1996 for Japan), countless of Pokemon fans have risen and continue to do so today as new generations take over for the Black and White versions. On a more personal note, I don’t think I can ever enjoy the new games as much as I did back during the release of Pokemon Yellow.  However as I say this, the children who grow up with generation five would probably say something similar for Black and White. As a child, exploring and finding these strange creatures in different areas was exciting and eventually fueled a passion for games.

Pokemon Black & White

By Amanda

Pokemon Black and White is one of  the best game ever, where everything is new!  Though catching and raising pokemon is the same, theirs new ways to catch them, and the story is much bigger then before.  Now getting badges is not the only thing important to do, but also to stop Team Plasma who wants to free all pokemon from Trainers.

New ways to find pokemon are when in the grass, sometimes one will shake, and if you go into it, you will find rare pokemon!  When on water, you may see a bubble, and when you swim to it, you will also see rare pokemon, and if your in a cave, you may see a dust ball, and not only could you find pokemon, but you may also find items as well.  When on a bridge, you will occasionally see a shadow, and not only will you find pokemon going under it, but you could also find item wings that can raise your stats Evs a little.  And now theres another type of grass you can go in, if its darker, you will sometimes battle two wild pokemon at a time, but be careful that you wont be able to catch  two pokemon at a time, so you will have to defeat one to catch one.

The Reasons Behind The Strange Look Of Generation IV Pokemon

By Tony Tanaka

Many people think the new Black and White Pokemon characters look strange. But why is this? I think the reason is because the Pokemon company switched their design team. The biggest lost is the fact that Satoshi Tajiri hasn’t worked on the games since the days of Gold and Silver. This is probably the main reason why Generation III and Generation IV Pokemon looked so different from Generation I and Generation II Pokemon. Generation V which is just coming out will probably look just as strange.

There is a team of people that are in charge of designing the monsters. They come up with all the ideas. They decide which ones are the best and refine them into the final characters. After that, Ken Sugimori draws the chosen designs. In the first generation, there was a group of four people including Ken Sugimore. Satoshi Tajiri, the creator of Pokemon, had the role of approving the monsters and suggesting changes after the basic ideas were designed. Presently, Junichi Masuda took over after Ruby Sapphire.
