Emolga The Irresistible! Summary And Review

By JC

Hey guys! Today I will be summarizing and reviewing the 24th episode of the Pokemon Black and White series. In the previous episode, Ash earned his third gym badge by defeating Burgh in a 3-on-3 gym battle. The show beings with a trio of Patrat bouncing on a tree limb to yield some tasty apples. An Emolga peeks from a tree and flops down on the ground next to them. It proceeds to use Attract on all 3 of them, and as a result, takes off with all their hard-earned apples.

Ash, Iris, and Cilan are seen eating lunch with a guest, Bianca. Iris presents some apples for dessert afterwards, to which Bianca responds negatively. Oshawott pops out spontaneously and grabs an apple. Axew is handed one as well, but mishandles it and chases after it down a hill. An Emolga takes his apple and daydreams about a scenario to take all of Iris’s apples. It thinks that if it is nice to Axew, Iris will offer her apples in return. This is exactly what happens, but Bianca comes running down and smothers it. She shows her intentions to catch it and sends out her Mincinno to battle it. Mincinno begins with Double-slap and follows that up with Hyper Voice. It uses Tickle next, but that provokes Emolga to use Discharge and electrocutes everyone. Both battles uses Attract, but only the wild Pokemon’s attack goes through. Oshawott pushes Mincinno out of the way and begins to fall in love. It turns out our new friend is a girl. It flies away as Bianca and Axew chase after it.

Axew wants to give an apple to Emolga so they go looking for it. Bianca has her own intentions and heads off. We see it find some apples and its thoughts about Iris’s apples as well as a negative view of Bianca and being caught. Iris finds her and reveals that her Pokemon has a small crush on the electric-mouse. Just when they are about to cement their friendship, Bianca interrupts. She flies away, but Iris and Axew follow it, but they end up in a forest full of Swoobat. Emolga can’t stand it and she electrocutes all of them. Ash and the others play catch up.

Iris, Emolga, and Axew find a small pond and proceed to have a bit of fun. The electric mouse decides to use Hidden Power into the pool, but gets a little carried away and provokes a school of Swoobat nearby. She electrocutes them again and they make a run for it. The others are in the forest and look upon a rustling bush. Bianca decides to launch a surprise attack with Pignite, but mistakenly attacks a Scolipede. Iris and the two take cover in a small cove. Ash and the others are able to get away from Scolipede and they come to rustling tree. Bianca prematurely attacks again, attacking a Galvantula this time. Angered, it shocks all of them. Back in the cove, a huge group of Swoobat attacks them. They are surrounded and forced to fight. Iris sends out her Excadrill in hopes that he will defend them. It stays clammed up. Emolga uses her Attract, but has no effect on the male Swoobat. Excadrill is inadvertently affected and Iris recalls him, shaking her head.

A Venipede Stampede! Summary And Review

By JC

Hey guys! I’ll be summarizing and reviewing the 22nd episode—A Venipede Stampede—of Pokemon Black and White. The episode starts off with Team Rocket, Pierce, and Dr. Zager inside their blimp examining the meteonite. It glows yellow as it gives off strong pulses of electricity. The introduction song plays and our heroes have finally arrived at Castelia City. Iris and Cilan take in the scenery and recommend that they go to Castelia Cone for some sweets. Ash, with a determined look on his face, intervenes to head to the Castelia Gym first. They take walk through the city and bump into Burgh who is looking worriedly at a tree. He says that the bug Pokemon are behaving strangely and that he must attend to them before he can battle. They head over to Castelia Cone, but are disappointed to see that it is closed. Pikachu notices a weird-looking manhole and the group decides to go down it.

They go farther down the sewers when they spot a Venipede trapped inside a pipe. Ash finds it and wants to pull it out, but Burgh warns that he may get poisoned due to its ability, Poison Point. All of a sudden, he pulls it out and the startled Venipede uses Screech in fear. He tries to calm it down and eventually earns its trust, but is poisoned in the process. Cilan whips up an antidote and cures him as well as using a potion on their new bug friend. Iris also helps out by giving it a delicious Oran Berry. Moments later, they are startled to find a huge herd of Venipede crawling through the sewers. The herd angrily attacks them and they are forced to run. They resurface, only to find that the Venipede colony is attacking the entire city. Officer Joy arrives on the scene and tells our heroes to get out of the city and that Professor Juniper is looking into the disaster. An explosion occurs in the distance at the Pokemon Center and they decide to go there. Several trainers defend the Pokemon Center, including Trip, who sends out Lampent. It along with Pignite, Darmanitan, and Pansear proceed to use Flamethrower on the massive colony. Ash intercedes and gets in an argument with Trip. The mayor arrives and allows Ash, Iris, and Cilan to help Burgh in his plan to gather all the Venipede in Central Plaza.

The group goes to the city and Burgh attempts to reason with the leader, but Trip follows them and tries to knock it out. Ash takes a hit for the leader which prompts the injured one to vouch for him. The Audino he requested for arrives with Nurse Joy and proceeds to heal the colony. Burgh then takes out his flute and plays a melody that attracts the colony to follow him. The others are assigned to assist with any stragglers. For this task, Ash sends out Pidove, Axew helps, and so does Pansage. Even Trip helps out and in doing so, possibly motivated Pidove to evolve.

Professor Juniper and her team locate an unknown energy source centering at the Desert Resort. Ominous music plays as the scene switches to Giovanni in a jet. The day turns to night and everyone successfully gets the Venipede colony into the Central Plaza. The mayor and the townspeople express their thanks. Juniper arrives via plane and explains her findings to the others. She heads out to the Desert Resort to investigate. The end.

Sewaddle And Burgh In Pinwheel Forest! Summary And Review

By JC

Hey guys! Today I’ll be summarizing and reviewing the 18th episode of Pokemon Black and White. Our heroes begin at the edge of Pinwheel Forest—a large forest that is notorious for people getting lost inside. It is the only obstacle keeping them from Castelia City and the next gym badge. They enter and are promptly ambushed by a Sewaddle. It knocks Ash down and unleashes a surprise attack on Pikachu. Ash tries to catch it, but it uses its web to avoid the Pokeball and retreat. They try to run after it, but they cannot and become lost.

Iris plans on getting them back on the right path, but is made fun of when she leads them to a dead end. They decide to get to higher ground and spot a very big and tall tree. Upon their arrival, Iris and Ash get excited and ascend the tree. Near the top, they spot a weird looking object. To their surprise, a man jumps out! He introduces himself as Burgh and goes on about his pure heart. Cilan recognizes him as the famous Bug-type trainer. The party finds out that Burgh is actually the gym leader of Castelia City and they join his desire to live in the forest. Sewaddle strikes once again but becomes docile when it sees Burgh.

They all decide to take a rest while Cilan prepares a delicious meal. Burgh explains how Sewaddle greet one another. He, Pikachu, Iris, and Axew all take turns saying hello, but Sewaddle headbutts Ash instead. A prospective trainer must first familiarize himself with these bug-type Pokemon in order to successfully catch them. They learn to “live in the forest” by following Sewaddle and doing what it does. They watch it roam the forests and take a nap with it in the prairie. It takes a stop near a bush of leaves and gets attacked by two Woobats. Just when it looks like it’s going to get a thrashing, Ash takes the hit, which allows it and Pikachu to fend off the hostile Woobats.

Scraggy—Hatched To Be Wild. Summary And Review!

By JC

Hey guys! Today I’ll be summarizing and reviewing the 17th episode of Pokemon Black and White. The show begins with our heroes taking a break somewhere along the road to Castelia City. Ash’s egg starts to glow, indicating that it’s about to hatch. They gather around in anticipation around the glowing egg, but are startled when Axew accidently trips and pushes it down a hill. They chase after it and Pikachu ends up using Quick Attack to catch the egg before it collides into a boulder. Almost immediately, the egg hatches and reveals a Scraggy and Ash uses his Pokedex right away.

Scraggy seems happy to see Ash, but greets Pikachu with a Leer and a Headbutt. Ash decides to let his new spunky Pokemon have a battle. Pikachu goes easy on it, but it is obvious that Scraggy is outmatched. Afterwards, Ash sends out Pidove, Tepig, Oshawott, and Snivy to all meet and play with the newly-born. The sun starts setting and everyone gathers around to eat dinner. Meanwhile, Team Rocket receives instructions from Pierce and comment that they are now on “Stage 2” of their operations.

The scene turns back to our heroes and it is night time. Everyone is sleeping except for Axew who notices Scraggy is missing and alerts Iris. Ash and Cilan wake up and they all start looking around in the forest. Axew tracks down Scraggy’s footprints and they find it head-butting a tree. A disgruntled Galvantula pops out and unleashes a flurry of electric and bug type moves. Pikachu is able to scare the Galvantula away, but not before Scraggy suffers much damage. Iris and Axew look in the forest for herbs, and fix up a healing salve for the injured Pokemon.

The next scene involves Team Rocket delivering the meteorite to Dr. Zager who promptly runs some tests. The meteorite subsequently radiates violet leaving James, Jessie, and Pierce in awe. The following morning, Scraggy wakes up and is back to normal, but when everyone is ready to eat breakfast, it goes missing again. This time, Ash sends out all his other Pokemon to help in the search. They end up tracking him to the same tree, but this time it is surrounded by multiple Galvantula. Pidove, Tepig, Pikachu, Oshawott, and Snivy all engage in battle and rescue their friend. Afterwards, they finally eat, but Axew and Scraggy bump heads. Cilan says that the two would make perfect training partners, so Ash and Iris decide to battle. The two only know two moves apiece and so they mainly exchange Scratches and Headbutts. They battle ends up in a drawn when Dragon Rage hurts both Pokemon. Our heroes continue on their journey to the next city.

Rematch At The Nacrene Gym! Summary And Review

By JC

Hello guys! I will be giving a summary and review of the 16th Pokemon Black and White episode. The episode picks up right where the previous one ended, at the Battle Club. Don George begins his training lesson with Ash’s Tepig and tells him that the trainer must also train beside his Pokemon. Tepig and Ash start their training on a treadmill, trying to increase their stamina and speed. Don George turns up the intensity by having them dodge “shadow balls” at the same time. At first they struggle, but soon enough, they master the exercise and are noticeably stronger and tired. While Tepig rests, Oshawott is sent out to train.

Don George shows them a water-type training environment that looks like an enlarged swimming pool. There, Ash and his Oshawott are to swim against the current to build up their muscles and stamina. Meanwhile, Cilan and Iris feed a fully rested Tepig, but can’t seem to find Axew. Axew is mischievous and messes with the computer that controls the current strength. Ash and Oshawott are caught off-guard by the increase in current, but Osahwott adapts and performs Aqua Jet. Don George tells him to aim for the target, but the otter falls just short.

After they complete their training, Ash goes back to the Nacrene Gym to have a rematch with Lenora. Like last time, she shows her Pokemon, Watchog and Herdier (she evolved her Lillipup), before the match. The match begins with Tepig facing off against Herdier. Tepig opens with Ember and Herdier defends with Protect. It counters with Shadow Ball which Tepig dodges with relative ease thanks to his newfound speed. Herdier uses Roar and forces Oshawott to switch out. Lenora switches her Pokemon with Watchog to reenact the situation from their last match.

Watchog uses Mean Look right away. This time, Ash and Oshawott are ready for Lenora’s strategy. Right away Oshawott uses Razor Shell and catches Watchog off guard. Ash is excited to use Aqua Jet, but it is unsuccessful twice. He tries to use Water Gun, but misses as well. Lenora makes a quirky remark before issuing a Confuse Ray which connects. Oshawott takes a punishing Thunderbolt, but with his last remaining strength, makes a direct hit with Aqua Jet resulting in a double knockout.

The Battle According To Lenora! Summary And Review

By JC

Hey guys! Today I’ll be summarizing and reviewing the 15th episode of Pokemon Black and White. Ash, Iris, and Cilan had just arrived to Nacrene City in the previous episode and now Ash is ready to challenge Lenora, the Nacrene City gym leader. Lenora, Hawes, and the trainers go through the museum and are allowed into a restricted room. It turns out to be a library where Lenora recommends that Ash studies about the Unova region. She points at a book and recommends that Ash should “take a peek” at it.

Ash is hesitant to read because he wants to battle, but Iris and Cilan hint that Lenora may be testing him. He pulls the book and that triggers the bookshelf to move, revealing a hidden staircase. The gym leader reveals that it was a test, and that she can get a sense of what the trainer is like by observing what kind of book he or she chooses. She comes to the conclusion that Ash is very straight-forward. They go downstairs and are introduced to the Nacrene City gym.

Before the battle even begins, Lenora reveals the two Pokemon she will be using: Lillipup and Watchog. There is some interaction between Lillipup and the others and the match finally begins after Hawes explains the rules. The battlers agree to a 2-on-2 match. The match begins with Lillipup using Roar on Tepig, forcing it to switch with Ash’s Oshawott. Lenora follows up her move by switching to Watchog and using Mean Look. Our protagonist is visibly shaken up and so is his Pokemon. Watchog’s Low Kick catches Oshawott off-guard, but is able to block the ensuing Thunderbolt with his scallop shell. Oshawott gets in a Water Gun, but loses his shell when he tries to use Razor Shell, and is knocked out by another Thunderbolt. Lenora switches back to Lillipup as Ash sends out Tepig again. Tepig doesn’t last very long, as he is outclassed by Lillipup’s speed and eventually gets knocked out by Take Down.

Ash thanks his Pokemon for the tough match and apologizes for his own shortcomings. He is saddened, but hopeful for his rematch. The trio goes to the Pokemon Center where Iris and Cilan give Ash advice. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is shown to steal the meteorite at the museum. The next morning, our heroes set out to the town’s Battle Club for some training. Don George is there to meet them and is familiar with the situation. He offers to provide rigorous training and the episode ends with the door opening to the Battle Club.

Minccino Neat And Tidy! Summary And Review

By JC

Hey guys! I will be summarizing and reviewing the13th episode of Pokemon Black and White. Ash, Iris, and Cilan are continuing on their journey to Nacrene City when they hear a young girl running towards them. The girl trips over a rock and stumbles, causing Ash and Cilan to fall into a nearby stream. While the two boys are drying up, Bianca introduces herself and relays a message from Professor Juniper explaining that she sent Bianca to give Ash a gym badge case. Ash receives his case and hands it over to Bianca to show her his Trio Badge when, all of a sudden, a Pokemon snatches it and runs away.

The trainers pursue it and hide behind a bush. It turns out to be a Mincinno and from the Pokedex, it likes to clean dirty objects, which would explain why it stole the dirty badge case. Bianca instantly falls in love with it and sends out her Pignite to battle. Pignite is tickled to submission prompting Ash to give it a go. Pikachu is ready, but Oshawott comes out of his Pokeball, pleading to battle. Mincinno tickles him and uses Double Slap and then runs away with the badge case. Meanwhile, Team Rocket has just reached Nacrene City and is surveying the city for a specific warehouse.

Back in the forest, Bianca has come up with a plan to capture Mincinno, by using Cilan’s dirty spoon as bait and a platter cover to catch it. Things are going accordingly to plan when it is caught, but it simply walks away with the cover on top of it. Our heroes chase it to a nearby tree and stream. Ash sends out Snivy and uses Attract, but Mincinno dodges it and uses Attract back at her. Ash must call her back and sends out Pikachu. Mincinno proves to be elusive and agile, dodging or blocking most of Pikachu’s attacks. It uses Hyper Voice and then starts to tickle Pikachu. Pikachu is able to resist and uses Thunderbolt on the worn out Pokemon. Bianca jumps at the chance to catch it, but cannot find a Pokeball in time and it starts to run off; however, it sees the dirty Pokeball and quickly runs over to clean it. The Pokeball opens up and catches Mincinno.

Ash finally recovers his badge and Cilan gets back his silverware. The group travels to a Pokemon Center and afterwards, Bianca challenges Ash to a 1-on-1 battle. She uses her Pignite against Pikachu. Pignite seems to have the upper hand and the match seems decided, but in a clash between Flame Charge and Volt Tackle, Pikachu emerges victorious. They become friends and Bianca goes on her way as our trio finally set out for Nacrene City.

We get to see Bianca in the episode! I found her to be an extrovert and quite expressive, much more invigorated and less timid than her video game representation. I welcome the big expression as it should be a positive role model for young girls. I thought she looked awkwardly huge compared to the others in certain scenes. I am impressed that she evolved her Tepig even though it’s her only Pokemon. There’s not much from Team Rocket these days.

Here Comes The Trubbish Squad! Summary And Review

By JC

Hey guys! It’s that time again. Today, I’ll be doing a summary and review of the 12th episode of the Pokemon Black and White series. Ash, Iris, and Cilan continue their journey to Nacrene City, when they suddenly see a group of Kindergarteners riding their tricycles approaching them. The kids throw dirt balls, hitting Ash and Cilan. Two ladies run up and apologize on behalf of the kids. We see a brief interruption by the Sandile with sunglasses. The women bring back our heroes to their daycare center, where they introduce themselves. Carina is the elderly woman, and Daniella is her granddaughter.

The two explain the situation of how the kids found a Trubbish in a nearby junkyard. The children fell in love with it and dubbed themselves, the “Trubbish Squad.” The kids wanted it to stay with them in the class, but Daniella refused, saying that it is too dirty and smelly to be allowed in a classroom. The Trubbish Squad constructs a secret base in a tree house surrounded by trash from the junkyard. Ash volunteers to try to reason with them, but only gets caught.

Ash and the Squad get to talking and the kids are instantly attracted to Pikachu. Avery is revealed to be the leader of the group and he eventually gives back Ash’s signature hat (Ash lost it at the start of the episode). A cut scene shows Team Rocket waiting at a train station. They are met by an unknown man who delivers a case containing some meteorite. Back at the clubhouse, Trubbish releases some of its smell, thus forcing Ash and the others to go outside. A few moments later, the sunglass-wearing Sandile appears and is hostile towards them. Pikachu and Trubbish are able to defeat the Sandile.

The others become impatient and confront Ash and the children. Daniella won’t tolerate their behavior and sends out her Deerling. Ash has a change of heart and sides with Avery and the others by having Pikachu battle. A big problem develops when Deerling accidentally gets knocked into some junk, which makes the entire surrounding unstable. Everyone must work together in order to protect the children. After the situation is safe and clear, Daniella agrees to allow Trubbish to stay with them. As our heroes get ready to set off, Carina entrusts an egg to Ash.

A Home For Dwebble! Summary And Review

By JC

Hi guys! I will be offering a detailed summary and a review afterwards of the 11th episode of Pokemon Black and White. This episode starts out with Cilan preparing delicious sandwiches for Iris and Ash. Pikachu and Axew also enjoy their food without it getting stolen by Darumaka this time. Our heroes take a peek over some rocks to find a curious little Dwebble. They are delighted to see it in the process of choosing and making its home from a nearby rock. It then moves into its new shell, but is quickly kicked out when 3 bully Dwebble steal it from him. After beating up the owner, the bullies dig underground. Cilan cannot believe the injustice and sends out his Pansage to chase after the thieves. They are unsuccessful and the gang tries to calm down the disgruntled crab, but he lashes out in fear and ends up hurting Pansage.

A cut scene reveals Team Rocket meeting up with Pierce. They are given orders to infiltrate the Antimony Research Lab and to download the meteorite data. The sun is setting and the team is setting up camp for the night. Cilan uses a potion on Pansage, but he develops a fever. Iris comes to the rescue by whipping up a healing salve from nearby herbs. The team proceeds to sleep and we see Dwebble show its concern for the green monkey. As our heroes are sleeping, Team Rocket infiltrates the heavily secured research lab and accomplishes their mission. They report back to Pierce and are told to await further orders.

To everybody’s relief, Pansage makes a full recovery and the group heads out to help Dwebble get its home back. The bullies are spotted, but run away, only to be chased by Axew. Now that the wrong-doers are cornered, Dwebble vehemently insists that it wants to fight and get its house back by itself. The three are too much for it and again dig away. Knowing that the brave Pokemon only needs a fair fight, Cilan uses his food as bait to separate the trouble making trio. By using the environment and its deadly X-Scissor move, Dwebble takes back its house in a truly heroic manner. It becomes fond of Pansage and Cilan and decides to join him.

The Bloom Is On Axew! Summary And Review

By JC

Hey guys! Here is my summary and thoughts about the 9th Pokemon Black and White episode. I’m excited to start. I just finished seeing it and I’m going to say that it’s my favorite episode so far. We see a change of pace, as the episode starts out with a battle between Iris and Cilan. However, this is no ordinary battle; instead, Iris has asked Cilan to get easy on her so she can train her Axew. Axew’s futile attempts are shunned by Pansage in hilarious fashion and the battle is abruptly stopped after a botched Dragon Rage.

Our heroes sit in a tree to relax. Ash and Cilan joke about Axew’s “Dragon Sneeze,” but soon after offer encouragement and help. We get to see some of Iris’s backstory including how she got Axew. Meanwhile, Team Rocket receives updated orders to head to the Desert Resort in search of a meteorite and is notified that they will rendezvous with another agent. Pikachu and Axew are playing in the forest and looking for apples when they accidently disturb a wild Scolipede. The trainers see a commotion in the distance and run to investigate. Pikachu reaches them and communicates that Axew is stuck between Scolipede’s antennae.

Ash, Iris, and Cilan work together to confront the wild Scolipede. Iris sends out her Excadrill, but it just stays still. The combined attacks of Snivy, Tepig, Pikachu, and Pansage are enough to distract the Scolipede and Iris swoops down and rescues her Axew. The angered Scolipede accidently kicks Excadrill who isn’t too happy about it and retaliates with Dig. Excadrill defeats Scolipede and our heroes triumph. Iris realizes things about herself and Ash decides to battle Pikachu himself. The journey continues!

It was a treat to start off the episode with a battle. There is a twist in that Axew is a really poor battler and Cilan is just helping her out. The battle is a must-see; it is very entertaining and funny. The weakened Bullet Seed and Solarbeam from Pansage was great stuff. Axew is just too cute. We also see a bit of role-reversal from Ash who is constantly yelling advice from the sidelines.

We get to see some character development for Iris in this episode. I enjoyed learning how she got her Axew and seeing her hometown (we get to see Fraxures and Axews and statues of Zekrom and Reshiram). Axew and Iris really seem to love each other and that’s a good thing. Team Rocket is lying low for now, just how I like it. I welcome their characters, just not every single episode. I like how the suspense is building up. The rest of the episode revolves around how Ash, Cilan, and Iris take care of the Scolipede problem and is filled with great animation.
