Pokemon Best Wishes Episode 001 Review

By Trainer_Auro

After watching the hell out of the TV show as a kid, I’m excited about this new season. Since the games are supposed to be an all new experience, the anime decided to follow suit, and is having Ash (Satoshi) (depending on whether you’re watching it dubbed or subbed) start over with all new characters, and all new Pokemon. The difference between this and any other season (which seems to do roughly the same) is that you won’t be seeing any of the old Pokemon in this new region. While some things stay the same (such as the iconic Pikachu) some old traditions have been dropped, most notably Brock. He is nowhere to be found in this new series. While this is a disappointment to many fans, it’s a bit refreshing, to be rid of that long-running gag where he would hit on every woman in sight, trying to show them how he’s the world’s greatest “breeder.”

Pokemon 5th Generation: The New Generation as a Whole

By Nicholas Alves

As in every five years or so since its release, Pokemon has released another new generation.  As with all new generations we are brought a new Region, a new professor and a surplus of never before seen Pokemon.  As the fifth generation is brought upon us we find the new region is known as Unova and there are 156 never before seen Pokemon. As for the professor we are brought the first women professor known as Professor Juniper. Unlike in most previous generations, none of the Pokemon from any other generation will evolve from or into any of the fifth generation Pokemon.  We are also brought the normal fire, water and grass starters. The Pokemon go by the name of Snivy (grass) Tepig (fire) Oshawott (water). The Fifth generation has also brought us a brand new breed of criminal, Team Plasma! This team maybe more devious then Team Rocket themselves, they want to separate the world of Pokemon and Humans alike. The Region of Unova has several similarities and is most likely based on New York City.

Pokemon Serperior Samurott Emboar Pokedoll Plushies

By Brian Grabow

The Pokemon Centers in Japan have just released 3 new Pokedolls today. They are Serperior, Samurott and Emboar. These Pokedolls are larger than normal size. It is about twice the size of a normal Pokedoll and of course about twice the cost. It is one of the large size Pokedolls, similar to Reshiram and Zekrom that were released last month.

Check out my video of the 3 new Pokedolls on youtube if you want to see them up close and the size compared to a normal size Pokedoll.

Shiny Pokemon Review For Generation Five

By Emily

With so many new Pokemon making an appearance in the fifth generation games Pokemon Black and White, many new shiny Pokemon are able to be collected. But deciding on which ones to go after first can be difficult, since this generation is blessed with so many great shiny characters. However, the games are programmed such that two of the best shiny Pokemon of the generation can not be found shiny naturally.

Victini is one whose shiny form can not be obtained legally. Its bright white body contrasting with its neon orange ears, hands, and feet are very reminiscent of a clown, which seems to suit Victini’s Pokedex-based personality better than its regular coloration. Reshiram, one of the other Pokemon who can not be found shiny in the games, undoubtedly has the best shiny form of all fifth generation Pokemon. The once white rings on its body have been upgraded to gold, as have the plates on its wings. This new gold color combined with the sublime pink of shiny Reshiram’s body is a great combination of colors that show off the gold of the rings in a strong but reserved way.

Minccino And Emolga Large Size Pokemon Plushies

By Brian Grabow

The Pokemon Centers in Japan have just released two new large size plushies. They are Minccino and Emolga, or Chillarmy and Emonga as they are commonly known in Japanese.

Chillarmy Large Plush
Minccino Giant Size Plush Toy

These are only sold in Japan at the Pokemon Centers and not at any toy stores. These two large plush toys are bigger than most large size plush toys, but smaller than the lifesize plushies. They both have incredibly soft fur that is like velvet. Very soft to the touch. They are very nicely detailed too.  Both of their faces have nice stitching and are very adorable. The eyes are really nicely made and Minccino’s ears are also really cool. Very nice quality I think.

Both plushes are about 14-15 inches tall (about 35-38cm), so they are quite big. Not as big as the lifesize plushies, but pretty big.  The Minccino plushie is alot wider than Emolga Pokemon plush because of its gigantic ears, but they are both similar in height.

The Two Great Ground Pokemon of Generation Five

By Emily

Note: this contains spoilers, which some people may not like.

Pokemon Black and White have definitely improved the difficulty of Pokemon battles, and going in unprepared is a very bad idea. Especially with your final battle against N and Ghetsis. The legendary dragon N controls and many of the Pokemon on Ghetsis’ team are incredibly strong and can easily destroy an entire team of Pokemon.

However, two ground type Pokemon stand out as being near-essential in helping you win. Excadrill for Black and Krookodile for White are possibly the best Pokemon you can use in the two final battles of the main story.
Excadrill is very useful in Pokemon Black because it has immunity to Zekrom’s strongest attack, Cross Thunder. Excadrill has a very high attack stat and can learn both Earthquake and Drill Run, which will be able to faint Zekrom in only one or two attacks. Because Excadrill can learn both X-scissor and Brick Break, it will also be useful against Ghetsis’ strongest Pokemon, Hydreigon.

Which Japan Pokemon Center Generation V Plush Toys Are The Best?

By Tony Tanaka

In September, 2010, the Pokemon Generation V collection was released. There are approximately 155 completely new characters. They vary from previous Pokemon character designs as a new artist drew them. Although there is not much known yet about these characters, which ones seem to be the most popular? So far only a handful of these characters have become known. Tsutarja, Pokabu, Mijumaru, Emonga, Kibago, Meguroko, Mamepato, Munna and Musharna were all made in small plush toys already, so they seem to be quite popular. Tsutarja, Pokabu and Mijumaru are probably the most popular of the characters so far. These seem to be the three main characters of the new generation V set of characters. Tsutarja is a snake, Pokabu is a pig and Mijumaru is an otter.

New 5th generation Pokemon character Victini for your Nintendo DS

By Masa Nakamura

It was just announced on the Japanese Pokemon Sunday TV show that there will be a new Pokemon character. It’s name is Victini. This can be pronounced “bikutini”, “vikutini” or “victini”, depending on how you translate it. This very cute little critter looks like a little tan and orange mouse, but has big eyes and ears and has kind of a wild look to it. He or she is also giving the victory sign which is where its name Victini comes from. Victini is one of the new Legendary Pokemon characters. It is a phantom Pokemon which is similar to Mew, Jirachi, Manaphy, Celebi & Shaymin. It is listed as #000 in the Isshu Dex. It is not in the upcoming Pokemon Nintendo DS Black and White games that will hit the shelfs on September 18, 2010, but can be downloaded separately.
