Cyrus And Team Galactic

By Anonymous

I’m sure everyone who ever ventured in the Sinnoh region and actually succeeded to the Pokemon League encountered Cyrus, the boss of Team Galactic a couple of times. He is a weird guy, but intelligent and has some points, or does he? I’m not siding with Team Galactic, seeing that their a crime syndicate and all but if you listened in on what their goals are you would understand how terrifying the plan is. First off, a back-story of the boss, Cyrus. And then a look at the goals and the points Team Galactic has.

All about Pokemon Minccino, Cinccino, and Emolga

By Emily

Both Minccino and Emolga share top spots as the cutest Pokemon from the fifth generation, with Cinccino trailing behind by just a little. While their strengths and attacks may not be perfect, their overwhelming cuteness and flood of merchandise more than makes up for it.

Emolga is a bit harder to find than Minccino since it only in shaking grass. Both Pokemon can be found on multiple routes, so you can get one at a relatively high level if you so desire. Despite needing an evolutionary stone to evolve, Cinccino can also be found in the wild where Minccino is normally found, but like Emolga it will only be in the shaking grass.

Pokemon Normal Type Move Summaries Part 5

By Matt

I will be discussing Normal-type Pokemon moves. The entire list can be found at http://www.serebii.net/attackdex-bw/normal.shtml. This provides a complete list with PP, Base Power, Accuracy, and a complete description. When you click on the move, you can see more details, like which Pokemon can learn it.

Let’s move on to L and M moves.

Last Resort suggests exactly what its name is: a last resort. You can only use this after you’ve used all your other 3 moves, so make sure they’re useful. And, after you use Last Resort, you have to use all 3 moves again, so proceed with caution.

Leer, a very basic move, lowers the target’s Defense by one level. This is good early on in the game, then when you fight higher leveled Pokémon, it becomes sort of obsolete, if you know what I mean.

A Teenager’s View on EV Training

By Matt

Today’s topic discusses EV Training, which is another way to make your Pokemon stronger in one (or more than one) particular stat. EV stands for Effort Value(s), which are given out every time you can fall either an enemy or a wild Pokemon with one of your own. Effort Values, or EV Points, are given based on what stat the Pokemon is strongest at. They are also given in small increments, so you will have to encounter that same Pokemon again to find an increase in EV.

For example, Geodude have a very strong base stat in Defense, which is what their EV is: 1 point in Defense. When you defeat a Pokemon, you will get their EVs, and store them up until the next level up (there is no point in EV training if you are at level 100). Serebii (which I use all the time, as you may have noticed) says that in order to gain 1 extra EV in a certain stat, you have to defeat four of the same Pokemon.

Pokemon Normal Type Move Summaries Part 4

By Matt

I will be discussing Normal-type Pokemon moves. The entire list can be
found at http://www.serebii.net/attackdex-bw/normal.shtml. This provides
a complete list with PP, Base Power, Accuracy, and a complete description. When you click on the move, you can see more details, like which Pokemon can learn it.

If I remember correctly, we’re on G, H, and J now.

There’s no moves starting with I, what a shame (Giga Impact is the physical equivalent of Hyper Beam: its power is 150, but the user has to rest on the next turn.

Glare paralyzes the opponent. This can be useful for getting slower Pokemon in your party to move first.

Growl lowers the opponent’s Attack. Charm is a much better alternative for this move (because it lowers two levels).

All About Blitzle And Zebstrika

By Emily

Being strong, fast electric types, Blitzle and Zebstrika are two top-notch Pokemon from the Unova region. Their stats and attacks give players at any level in the game a speedy edge, and the best part of these two is their relative commonness. Not to mention some recent merchandise. Zebstrika’s two best attributes are its Attack and Speed, which should be used to their full potential. With most of its moves being physical it has no problem dishing out some real damage.

With Flame Charge, it has a type advantage over many more Pokemon with the added bonus of a speed boost every time it uses the attack. Wild Charge and Thrash are two of the best attacks for this character, thanks to their high base power and Wild Charge’s Same Type Attack Bonus. Even though Thrash will eventually confuse Zebstrika, it allows the Pokemon to get some damage in for multiple turns. The recoil with Wild Charge may make it seem like a double-edge sword, it will allow Zebstrika to take down many of its opponents at a small price.

Pokemon Normal Type Move Summaries Part 3

This time around, I will be summarizing moves beginning with E through F.

Echoed Voice is a special move. Even though its base power is 40, it will increase with every successive use. Remember, if you stop using it, it will go back to 40.

Egg Bomb is one of those powerful moves, but only has a ľ chance of landing. Be careful; you can only use this move 10 times.

A Devious Feline

By Pheonixxfoxx

Pokemon Black & White, I had mixed feelings about the new game honestly. Most of the new generation 5 Pokemon were so strange and different! Then a certain purple kitty, by the name of Choroneko/Purrloin was revealed! I have always had a soft spot for the evolved cat forms, so my like for Choroneko came as a bit of a surprise. Don’t get me wrong, I have always liked Meowth, Skitty, and Glameow. I just like their evolved forms better for some reason!

Pokemon Normal Type Move Summaries Part 2

We now move on to Normal-type moves beginning with C and D.

First up is Camouflauge, which turns the user into a type depending on where you are battling. If you find a Pokemon in tall grass that uses this move, it will turn into a Grass-type. The same goes for caves and water: it will turn into a Rock or Ground-type, and Water-type, respectively.
