Take Your Pick Of Pokemon Starters

By UR2L8

For more than a decade now, trainers across the globe have explored various regions, thwarted villainous organizations, and befriended a multitude of different creatures – Pokemon. It is through the bond trainers share with Pokemon that make such extraordinary adventures possible. In 2011, there are nearly 650 different species, and with each trainer carrying six at a time, the differences between even two could be as apparent as night and day. Despite the major differences, there will always be a point where all trainers stand on even ground. It’s a question that’s presented with the dawn of each generation: “Who will your starter Pokemon be?” The question doesn’t have a right or wrong answer, each starter is strong against one, weak against the other, and so all trainers are placed on level footing, with a decision that may be the root of their differences from then on.

Where In The World Is Hoenn?

By Joe

Is it just me or is Hoenn the lost region of the Poke-world? I’m sitting here looking at the list of towns, gym leaders, elite four members and Pokemon and to be honest with you despite being a borderline obsessive fan I have literally no idea who half of them are. Who are “Tate and Liza”? “Pheobe” anyone? No didn’t think so. When was the last time you saw an “Exploud”? That one episode 6 years ago? I don’t even remember it myself. I had to google it.

On a side note, with all the fuss over generation fives crappy designs people seemed to forget that Exploud and its pre-evolution Loudred are actually based on boom box’s! Yes, those music players from the 70’s. Atleast everybody knows what ice cream is. I doubt anyone actually playing Pokemon is aware that boom box’s existed. To be fair that is stil a step above a trash bag. But still!

Hoenn Region Pokemon Part 2

By Amanda

Wurmple is a bug type, known as the worm Pokemon, and known as Kemusso in Japan.  It can only learn two moves through level up, being poison sting, and bug bite.  It has two evolution chains, depending on the time it evolves.  If it evolves during the day, it will evolve into Silcoon at level 7, and then into Beautifly at level 10.  If Wurmple evolves at night, it will evolve into Cascoon at level 7, and then into Dustox at level 10.  In the anime, May caught a Wurmple, as well as Jessie, who both wanted a Beautifly.  But later on, May’s Wurmple evolved into Silcoon while Jessie’s evolved into Cascoon, but Jessie would argue to everyone that Cascoon was Silcoon.  Soon both May’s Silcoon and Jessie’s Cascoon evolved around the same time, and Jessie finds out that she got a Dustox instead of a Beautifly, but was soon excited that she got a Dustox.

My Favorite Starter Pokemon

By Anonymous

With the release of generation 5 I have one very important question for you, “which Pokemon starter is your favorite?’ While you ask yourself that question please allow me to give my input on which starters I think are the best ever. Just because I say starters Doesn’t mean their all in one generation. I mean a favorite grass starter, fire starter, and a water starter.

My favorite fire starter definitely has to be the new one, Tepig. Why you may ask? Well for one I think this starter is extremely unique. I mean look at it! It’s an awesome fire piggy. Not to mention its evolutions make me squeal every time I see it. If you still need other reasons here are more to think about. For one, Tepig gets a great evolutionary move set down the line if you train it properly. Not to mention the addition of and additional type which is Fight. Tepig can learn about all of the powerful fire moves and gets a special move for triple battles. So not only is this Pokemon extremely cute, It is well rounded, a great first pick for an adventure, and gains a sub type that makes up for its weaknesses.

A Teenager’s View On Quilava

By Matt

It would be really hard to guess someone’s favorite Pokemon, seeing as there are at least 500, including the new Unova region. The Pokemon I would like to share with you today is Quilava, also known as Magumarashi in the Japanese versions of Pokemon. It’s always been a favorite for me since childhood. There’s really no possible explanation I can offer. I remember when I first looked at that Quilava Pokemon card. It gave me some sort of feeling to hold on to it.

Pokemon 4th Generation

By Anonymous

Everyone has their own opinion on their favorite generation of Pokemon, all with different reasons. For those who can take an opinion I would like to present my favorite the Pokemon 4th generation!

In my opinion they added so much in this generation and I feel that they really tried their best to appeal to us! Here are some more reason why this generation is my personal favorite. A lot of improvements were made since generation 3. Nintendo pulled out all of the stops this generation to assure we, the gamers, remain happy and satisfied with the 4th generation. This is limited to the improved day and night system, easier to move about in cities, and of course refined Pokemon gym leaders.

All About Pokemon Deino, Zweilous, and Hydreigon

By Emily

The Unova region features many Dragon type Pokemon, and the second evolutionary set from this region features Deino, Zweilous, and Hydreigon. These Pokemon are also some of the more difficult to evolve in the fifth generation due to high evolution level requirements. However, they have become favorites among fans and Hydreigon will even be featured in the upcoming movies.

Since only Deino is the only one of the three available in the game through regular play and is very rare, finding just one may take a good amount of time. It can only be found within the caves of Victory Road around level 40. However, the capture rate for this Pokemon is fairly high, so it should not be difficult to catch.
