Kanto Region Pokemon Part 4

By Amanda

Weedle is a bug type, known as the hairy Pokemon, and known as Beedle in Japan. It can only learn one move through level up, which is bug bite. When it reaches level 7, Weedle will evolve into a Kakuna, and then at level 10, it will evolve into a Beedrill. When it’s a Beedrill, it can learn lots of strong attacks through level up, like pursuit, poison jab, pin missile, and rage.

Rattata is a normal type, known as the mouse Pokemon, and known as Koratta in Japan. It can learn attacks like bite, and hyper fang. When it reaches level 20, it can evolve into a Raticate. In the anime, Ash traded his Butterfree for a Raticate from a trainer on the St. Ann during his adventures in the Kanto region. It wasn’t long after the trade that Ash regretted it, and went to the trainer to trade back Raticate for Butterfree, to which he agreed. Continue reading “Kanto Region Pokemon Part 4”

Fourth Generation Shiny Pokemon Review

By Emily

Following in the footsteps of a previous generation of many good and unique shiny Pokemon, the fourth generation hit quite a few flat notes. No Pokemon from the Sinnoh region was graced with a shiny event distribution, and for quite a number of monsters the color change is barely a few shades different. However, like with every generation, some do stand out and are very popular for one reason or another. Starting with legendaries, both Giratina and Cresselia have very unusual shiny colorations, and are two of my personal favorites. Continue reading “Fourth Generation Shiny Pokemon Review”

Shiny Pokemon

By Anonymous

Shiny Pokemon is a specific character with different coloration to what is usual for its species. The term “Shiny Pokemon” refers to the sparkling sound effect and animation made at the start of an encounter with one in the games. Shiny Pokemon in the games may differ in color from their normal counterparts either very little or very much. An evolutionary line is not necessarily guaranteed to have similar alternate colorations, even if their standard colorations remain consistent; both Ponyta and Rapidash have orange flames, but an alternate colored Ponyta has blue flames, while an alternate colored Rapidash has gray flames. Dragon type Pokemon

By Leonie Herson

Throughout the Pokemon generations, the variety of dragon and dual-type dragon Pokemon has increased. Starting with the Dratini line, which was pure dragon type; this has expanded to new electric-dragon and fire-dragon types of the fifth generation’s Zekrom and Reshiram.

In addition, the number of dragon type Pokemon found within each generation of games has rapidly increased. In generation one there was only Dratini, with its evolutions Dragonair and Dragonite. Gold, Silver and Crystal had Kingdra: the final evolution of the Horsea line, whereas Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald boasted six new dragon types (not including evolutions). This expanded to a further four new dragons in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum with finally six more in the latest generation of Pokemon Black and White.

Caterpie is a bug type, known as the worm Pokemon, and known as Catapie in Japan. It can only learn one move through level up, which is bug bite. When it evolves into a Metapod, it can learn only harden through level up, but once it evolves into Butterfree, it can learn attacks like gust, psybeam, and silver wind.

In the anime, Ash caught a male Caterpie, being the first Pokemon he caught. It soon evolved into a Metapod, and then into a Butterfree. Butterfree would also be the first Pokemon to let go, when it fell in love with a pink Butterfree, releasing him so he can start a family with the pink Butterfree.

Ruby And Sapphire Pokemon Game

By Anonymous

In Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire there are three starters. Torchic, Treeko, and Mudkip. I advise to go with either Torchic or Mudkip as it is hard to find a good fire and water Pokemon in Ruby or Sapphire until you get Groudon or Kyogre. Mudkip evolves into Marshtomp then into Swampert, Treeko evolves into Grovyle then into Sceptile, and Torchic evolves into Combusken then into Blaziken.

Torchic is a fire type starter Pokemon, or in Japanese it is known as Achamo. Its ability is Blaze, that is where it raises the power of Torchic’s Fire-type attacks by 1.5x while Torchic has less than 1/3 of its max HP (rounded down). It can learn moves as strong as flamethrower, firespin, and peck. Torchic evolves into Combusken at level 16 and then into Blaziken at level 36. Its weaknesses are water and ground Pokemon.
